I was just my dealer, to order an ‘25 Lariat Eco, and the trade-in for my ‘22 was much lower than I expected; compared to KBB. So I may have to go the Caravana route as well, when the time comes. Usually the tax savings doesn’t make it worth it, but it might just be this time around.
I'm sure our dealer will try to steal our '22 as well, even after we pay MSRP on the new Mav, but I'll sell it either to Carvana or direct to another buyer before I let them hose me.

OP, that was a well thought out post and great food for thought for others who are considering trading to a new Maverick.

Outside of a handful of close friends and family, I feel zero need to ever justify my purchases or reveal my saving habits to anyone. It's a personal decision, one that the individual has the most information for. If people ask out of genuine curiosity, I gladly oblige.

That said, if you're massively in debt, underwater on your current car note and have nothing saved for emergencies, getting a new vehicle is the wrong choice 100% of the time. Yet so many fall into this trap.

There is no real logical justification for me upgrading my Mav to a MY25. The fact is, I want to, and it is worth it to me. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in the position of even being able to order a new truck and will not need to finance it when it gets delivered. I mean sure, I'll save some money (cash flow, at least) on gas going to a hybrid but it still doesn't make sense financially overall. Gas is such a miniscule portion of my financial picture that this still squarely falls into "want" category.

Sorry to hear that. I wonder if you showed Ford the Carvana quote, would they match it? That's what I was planning to do.

Worth a try. The sales tax difference might be a grand ot two though. At least in my state, the sales tax is applied to the NET purchase price, after subtracting the trade in.

Had my sales guy pull up KBB, to see what I saw. They a system that pulled up what Lariats were selling for in the area, and went by that. But I’m not sure whether those were loaded like mine or not; or if they have accident damage. There were a couple around $33K, but had been on the lot a long time, which to them meant they are too high.
I understand it is hard to predict the future, since ‘25 Mavs won’t be here until at least Jan or Feb, so I expected $1K less than current KBB, but not over $4K less.
They will re-look when my ‘25 actually gets here.

I'm getting Oxford White.

I got Cyber Orange, because I went to Clemson and love orange. Aside from orange, I'm not really a "flashy" color kind of guy, and Ruby Red was really the only other color I liked a lot. I love how bright white "pops" on a vehicle...especially when I put my tiger paws and decals on it. :)
Ruby Red is too close to Gamecock colors LOL.

Nothing wrong with Oxford White but it’s not for me personally…… I’m surrounded by white fleet trucks at my workplace.

Seriously Ruby Red looks to be a very cool color and I’ll bet a lot of 2025 Mavericks will have this color.

I agree...too close to Gamecock "garnet". :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

In all seriousness though, my initial order was Ruby Red, but I changed it after mentally wrestling with it. I could see not wanting white if that's what you see all day long. Enjoy the red.

No sir, not getting a 25, but I do like the Ruby Red color.

I have been reading everyone's posts for days on my phone while out of town for work. My brain is starting to hurt with all the opinions. I am stuck in the same situation as some of you guys I think. I ordered two trucks Friday morning from my Ford Fleet account just to get the orders in. I currently have only one of my two original Mavericks.
The Mav I kept is my 2022 Cactus Grey Lariat Hybrid loaded (no sunroof - wanted the head room (tall guy)). It only has 2600 miles on it as I am always out of town and when home I have company truck I use. But during the time I have had it the truck has been in and out of service. One time spending over 2 months at the dealer. I had the heat exchanger for the hybrid system leak twice and they replaced the exhaust each time.
Intermittent electrical issues. And I am in the campaign with the 10 year 100K engine replacement deal. My FordPass never seems to connect to the truck anymore.
I ended up getting a Ford ESP for the truck for 10 years just because I wasn't sure what would happen. I friggin love this truck. But knowing that it was one of the first group of trucks sent out and the issues I have been having. I am seriously tempted.

Also I already started gathering the parts to do the headunit swap to the larger screen and sync 4 after reading some of the posts on here. That was the one thing I couldn't stand. Specially when sitting in my F350 and looking at that screen all day.

But the price is really kicking me on the increase of MSRP.
I was just under 30K OTD for my 22 Lariat. I owe nothing on it. And I have the Ford ESP also.
The two trucks I ordered (I couldn't figure out if I liked the new interior or not) are both identical.
Lariat Hybrid Oxford White (not a metallic paint guy. Really love my Cactus color) One has the black out appearance the other doesn't. Both have the 4K tow.
I am not sure how much I like the Smoked Truffle color which is why I ordered one with the BOAP.
But the new truck is like a $9K jump from my old one.
Called around this weekend to see what they would give me for my truck and I had offers from like $31-$34K (guessing because of the ESP also). So going to assume I would be like another $4k Out of pocket.
But if I deduct what I have into the headunit parts really only looking at $3K.
Just not sure it's worth it. The front end really doesn't do anything for me either.

1st world problems I know.
Seems a lot of us on here are stuck with what to do.
Long post sorry. Sitting at the airport venting this one out = )

As the old saying goes, the cheapest truck you'll ever own is the one you have right now. :)

I certainly empathize with you regarding the price increase. I paid $26k out the door for my '22 Maverick Hybrid XLT and am looking at $34k out the door for the '25 XLT Hybrid. If I hadn't invested my gas money, I would be laboring over whether to add another $7k to my loan. As it is, I'm only adding $1k and getting a bigger screen and resetting the engine to 0 miles and the warranty back to 3 years. Oh, and getting a heated steering wheel.

I suppose in one sense I should be happy. The less other people buy a Maverick, the less orders to get in the way of mine being built. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Think of it this way: we're contributing to more inexpensive (well, less expensive) used Mavericks on the market for more people to buy and enjoy.

True and I totally understand that. My one main hang up is the warranty issues I have been having. I just don't want to keep dealing with it in the future. The biggest one if it ever becomes an issue is the engine recall / warranty deal.
Just going to keep my order in for now and weigh my options until then.
Seems like a lot of people are in the same sort of situation. Torn from one or the other.

Side note I went and looked at a F150 and a Lincoln with the smoked truffle interior colors. I really don't know what Ford was thinking. Could have chosen a bunch of other options before these. But oh well.

When I sold my 20 Ranger the local VW dealer had to do better than Caravan which they did.
The only difference was they did not pay me til they had the title in hand.

Yeah, since there's no non-refundable deposit, there's really no reason not to order one.

And you don't even have to feel bad about ordering something you think you might not want, because they'll sell it in a heartbeat for a marked up price. You're almost doing them a favor. :)
