I got my 2024 XLT 2 weeks ago with so many bells and whistles I never even thought of, and me and the misses are really enjoying it. I read on here it seems some are having many issues but not sure if that is for the overall ownership in the U.S. who have Maverick's.

For a point of reference my old truck was a 2004 Dodge 3500 loaded 1 ton diesel. It had about 380,000 miles and still was a dependable ride but we just did not need that big of a truck anymore and us being on the older side (65+) it was starting to get hard going in and out. We still got some land so the Maverick 4.5 bed still comes in handy for us but that is all we need in this stage of our life.

I looked for over 1 year for small trucks and it seemed the Maverick XLT was the best rated by any main street magazines (Motor Trend, etc.) and youtube reviewers seems to like it overall also. Lastly the price was right and was 31K for us and again compared to what we had it's loaded.

But after reading many of the posts here I started to wonder if this forum is geared towards mostly issues with the truck and not the what I call good points. I love the ford co-pilot 360 with the blind spot mirror warning. I am a safe driver but find it gives me a bit of extra help on blind spots. There are some really fast and crazy drivers here in central Texas. Also the back up camera is very nice (remember my old ride was a 2004) and helpful. I could go on but we have always been ones to hold on to our cars/trucks for a long, long time. My wifes car is still at 2005 Dodge Caravan with over 105,000 miles and going good. I was brought up if you take care of your vehicle it will take care of you.

What I like best is I am getting 54 miles to the gallon on the daily normal type of driving we do for the 2 weeks I have had the truck. We do mostly small errands and an occasional trip to Houston (145 miles) every 3 months. Did that last weekend and the average said 44.7 MPG. I will say I am a conservative driver and do not speed or zip off from lights etc.

I do understand there are most likely going to be one or two bumps in the road even with good care but I think that can come with any vehicle you buy.

Just my 2 cents.
P.S. I hope to have this one for the next 20 years till I stop driving around 85-88YO.

Any thoughts??

3/22/2024 I posted pictures as requested and again we really like the truck alot.

Ouch! If I quit driving then, I'll only have used my Maverick 1-4 years.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I am (2.5 weeks now).

I had ordered Hybrid XL model back in July 23. Told it was to be built April 24. By chance, stopped by my dealer to see what kind of wheels and accessories the dealer had for my XL.
The dealer had like 8 Mavericks sitting there. I assumed they were already sold. But no, the dealer said a few were just their allotments and a few were canceled orders.

They had XL, XLT, and Lariants sitting there all for sale. (Kings Ford - Cincinnati)

They had my color - Hot Pepper Red - in XLT Hybrid.

When seeing that one sitting next to a XL, it was no comparison.

I bought the XLT Hybrid on the sport for the MSRP.

It was WAY nicer than the XL. The interior, the features, the wheels ... no comparison.
XLT was well worth the extra $5000 .....

Congrats on the New Pup.
Yes, forums seem to be the place for the negative side of things, even small ones.. :(

I have had my 2022 XL Eco for 15 months now (very late, late MY22 build).
I have avoided all of the gremlins, that I keep hearing about... ;)

Enjoy Your Ride.. 😁

It's common on message boards like this one to have people join, just to express their disappointment in a vehicle they just paid thousands for. It's the nature of these forums. The vast majority of buyers likely have few problems and rarely join a forum just to say they like their vehicle.

Glad your Maverick is bringing you joy.

If you can afford it, life is too short to keep driving an old and giant vehicle that served your needs, but is really obsolete for your purposes, now.

Hey Jack.

Welcome to the club and congratulations on getting your Maverick! That Atlas Blue is looking pretty good in your driveway.

I think this forum provides not only a space for those with problems to tell others about them, but also a great source of information on so very many aspects of the vehicle. It can also be a great place to see the different modifications Mav owners have done.

Speaking of mods, perhaps one of the first mods for you is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Glossy) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($5 delivered)

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)
