Yes. I believe the XL model has a physical lock that you can lock with your key. The XLT and lariat models have in addition to the physical lock a lock and unlock that locks with the doors. I may be mistaken though

Pretty much all tonneau covers lock via having the tailgate up — the latch for the cover is not accessible unless the tailgate is down. There are a few exceptions.

here’s a picture of an XL where you can see the lock next to the tailgate handle. As far as the Tonu cover goes I have no idea

my f250 tonneau has a power lock or key lock but it’s open with tailgate up until you lock it. Also had one that could not lock period.

Lariat and XLT have power tailgate lock XL has Key most of the hard tonneau covers require you to open the tailgate to open the cover so they basically lock via the tailgate being locked

Where may be some fancy-schmancy models of hard trifold tonneau that come equpped with a physical lock, the vast majority securely latch when pushed down into the fully closed position, rendering the unlatching mechanism inaccessible (to all but a very, very determined miscreant) with the tailgate closed.

Yea the hard tonneau on my 250 has a fob lock. PITA it never works in cold weather. I prefer self locking which presumably the hard folding OEM is on the Mav

Yes, the hard folding Ford cover is made by BAK - as has been said any hard folding/rolling tonneau will be 'locked' once closed as the mechanism to open these is housed under the cover, as long as the tailgate is also closed.

I have the Truxedo Sentry CT rolling hard cover - it is definitely completely sealed. To be honest, if someone was willing to damage the cover enough to get into it in plain site, they'd probably be the kind of person that would just break a window, take everything from inside, then open the back to discover my truck bed is probably empty

I have an XL. it does have a lock, but you need to use your key to lock and unlock it. I also have a hard top trifold tonneau cover that locks into place when the tailgate is locked.

No, there IS a theft prevention lock available for the tailgate. I added it to my order for $40. The order option code is CCBAB and is listed as "Tailgate Lock".

Tailgate on the Lariat (at least mine) locks when you lock the doors. You have to unlock the doors to unlock the tailgate.

I have an XL. There IS a tailgate lock, but you have to lock your tailgate with your key. It WILL NOT lock when you push the lock button on your key ring.
