Tailgate Lock option -- is it located in the handle or tailgate pivot point?

When I ordered my Maverick, I included a $40 option for Tailgate Lock. Is this a locking device installed in the handle or is it a device on one of the pivot points that prevents the removal of the tailgate itself?

Is essentially a hose clamp with a "keyed" socket that clamps around the passenger pivot pin. It will slow down removal of tailgate from the truck. After market is $17-$25.
Warning you must keep the 1/4 keyed socket where you can find it forever. Mine is taped to the back of my state farm insurance card holder in my glove box!
Hopefully a pack rat who like red plastic doesn't come across it.

It has no handle. It's a plastic coated hose clamp with a 1/4" keyed socket. You have to have a 1/4" wrench to operate it.

The option lock is the latter. It's basically a glorified hose clamp with keyed screw around the passenger-side pivot. It's also slightly superfluous since, stock, the truck has a bracket bolted on that needs to be removed before the tailgate.
