Looking to buy first Maverick. Worried about cabin noise compared to F150. Want sunroof, decent sound quality, towing ability. Any thoughts on best package. Buying used.
Lariat all the way couldn't be happier and for some reason Ford tends to ship them sooner 😉

I had intended to buy a XLT ‘25 until I found out I couldn’t option Adaptive Cruise Control on it (call me crazy, but that was my dealbreaker). The 40K is a lot to stomach, but I love my Lariat for various reasons.

I guess that all depends on if you're just looking for basic transportation, or smiles per mile. I knew within days of taking delivery of my '23 XLT that I under-ordered, and re-ordered a '24 Lariat the day the order window opened.

After having vehicles with keyless entry and push to start, it was miserable to have to take the key fob out of my pocket to start my truck.

Yeah the "value" argument is entirely subjective unless it is simple transportation from point a to point b - then obviously the cheapest most efficient vehicle represents the best value.

I find incredible value in going from XL to Lariat because I want the additional creature comforts and features that the Lariat offers. $11k increase over the base price is a significant amount of money, roughly 38% more than a base XL.

However if you look at an XL F-150 ($38,810) vs a Lariat F-150 ($63,360) to jump from XL to Lariat is a 63% increase over the base price.

In my opinion, a resounding yes, if I had it to do all over again I'd still get a Lariat. The hybrid was best for my needs but they've got a max trailer capacity of 2000# while you can get the EB w/ 4000# capacity so that would depend on your needs. I'll admit I've gotten used to the bells n whistles my Escape Titanium has and wanted as close as possible in my Mav, therefore, I limited my search to the well-appointed Lariat.
I went the extra mile when I bought my 2023 EB Lariat. So glad I did. Love having the extras even if I don’t utilize them often. The B&O sound system Is plenty good enough for my needs. Plus the heated seats, steering wheel and mirrors are a big plus in winter. Not sorry one bit I went this route. 👍

As many have said, yes, well worth it depending on your needs. As a work truck, not needed. I took delivery of my 25 Lariat three weeks ago and have no regrets. In fact, I have been driving a 25 XL dealer loaner for the past two days and I definitely noticed the difference in creature comforts and cabin noise. In case anybody wonders why I had a loaner for two days, it turned out to be a "nothing burger." I misinterpreted what I thought was a system malfunction light and when they were doing their diagnostic testing, they had a few items they wanted to check out. It appears the plant didn't clear some test codes, which still showed as active. As my service advisor told me, it was a first for them also. Learning experience for everyone.

It's a personal choice, but keep in mind the the Maverick is manufactured to be a low-cost vehicle with low-cost parts (around $25k). The Lariat just adds nice bells and whistles to a low-budget vehicle.

I think the Lariat was worth it. I had to reorder my Mav when my '23 XL hybrid order never got built. During that waiting period, I learned a lot from this forum as to what was on the Lariat and how those options worked. I wanted the full safety suite that was offered, a sliding rear window (no longer available on lesser trims), the real Sync3, the sound deadening, and better wheels than the XL.
I still feel that my XL order would have been a great value had it been delivered as ordered with CP 360, rear slider and hitch, but I'm glad that I upgraded. Of course I got a private offer due to the Roll-over and had more time to save for it, so the price increase was easier to swallow.
Keep in mind, the Lariat starting with MY '24 included AWD as standard except for hybrids. On the MY '25s the hybrid Lariats have AWD standard as do all Ecoboosts. At this time, a used 2025 model is probably difficult to find.

The F-150 is manufactured to be a low-cost vehicle with low-cost parts (around $38k). The Lariat and higher trim level package just adds nice bells and whistles to a low-budget truck.

I just love the Lariat and all the toys and would have nothing less. The sound system for me is great and will never understand those that mess with it. For that matter I don't understand where all these gripes come from as many of them just sound foolish.

Additional thought, the MY 22+23 Lariats were not loaded unless the optional Lux package was ordered. In '24 those features became standard, so be careful in buying one of the earlier model Lariats if there is some specific equipment your expecting.

I'm getting older and my wife has a RAV4 Limited with all the bells and whistles. My 2009 truck has few safety features. I have to remember that when on cruse control, my truck will rear end the semi in front of me. My 2025 Lariat arrives in a month and I'm looking forward to enjoying what may be my last truck. My wife taught my that you have to look at the "cost of ownership," that is, the number of hours you spend in a truck versus the additional cost of a Lariat above the cost of a XLT. In the long run, you are talking a few dollars more for all the added features.

Ford just emailed me that my Maverick will be built 2 weeks faster than they told me 3 weeks ago. I'm looking forward to driving a truck I have been wanting for 3 years.

All about need vs want vs wallet.

Our Maverick is our 2nd vehicle. I'm meh on leather seats. I got the copilot with my XL. My phone case doesn't let me wirelessly charge. I don't use satellite radio. I had a Lariat F150, and the number of times I opened the moonroof or back window I could count on one hand. With the app controlled remote start I was good, I can start it from my watch wherever I am, that's just fine for me. The adaptive cruise would be the one thing I might want, but I live middle of nowhere and when we go to the cities, most of the time we are taking the other car which has that and more.

For me... no. If it was my primary or only vehicle... maybe?

This was also my reasoning for getting the Lariat trim. After having ACC on my wife's car, I couldn't buy a new vehicle that didn't have it.

If your buying "used" it's hard to find trucks with sunroofs. You should just order a truck the way you want it, the wait time is only a few months, and you won't have second thoughts after spending thousands of dollars, and buying someone elses build.

The Lariat is lipstick on a pig. The 20k XLs in 2022 are built the same way as the 43k Tremors today. Whether the lipstick is worth it to you...you decide. Just don't be fooled by the Lariat badge because the refinement will not be anywhere close to that of an F-150.

I bought a Lariat, and I don't regret it, but mine was 33k plus tax. Not sure I'd buy one today at today's prices and interest rates.
