Yes if you want push to start, nice stereo/sirius, and just a really nice package.
Not quite 40k but 42 with all the taxes and fees…
AWD, FX-4, bedliner, also sonic windshield is nice, heated wheel and seats.
Wish it had memory seats.

despite the clickbait title, this is a remarkably good breakdown of what XLT to XLT w/ the Luxury package to Lariat offers, and what each step costs. Surprising knowledge level from a dealer.

This is how you choose the best value for your money, know exactly what you are buying what you are opting not to spend money on and why.

it also fuels conversation with a dealer who are trying to push packages and trims.

I think Lariat trim should have -

1. 10 way power driver seat
2. 6 way power passenger seat
3. Memory seating for driver (2 settings)
4. Adjustable front head rests (tilt forward/back)
5. Collapsible/foldable headrests for rear seats
6. The damn AWD power split screen back.

All minor asks that would further make an already amazing truck better.

On my MDX the memory settings recall seat, steering wheel and outside mirror position, radio station (or media) selection and temperature setting. And you can adjust the pitch of the seat bottom. Those are pretty much the only things I miss in the Maverick

For me it was. I got a great deal at the end of the "Employee Pricing" promo they had in June/July. I just picked it up two days ago. I got the Lariat, 4K Tow and Blackout edition. My daughter bought a 24 XLT and to me the difference between them was too good to pass up. The black interior looks great; I love the bigger screen. Wireless charging, better stereo etc. all add up. It was 39k before tax and tag, which I won't count in the price because you can't get away from that.
I agree 100%, I was driving a 22 XLT FX4 LUX 4KTOW all the options, drove it for 3 years, great little truck no problems except radio issues, never got more than 17/18 mpg except on highway got as high as 35mpg using the cruse, sold it with 15k and looking like the day I picked it up or better. The Lariat has so much more, 13" screen, sunroof, power sliding rear glass, phone charger, black fake leather seats, 4ktow, adapt cruse, 360 Camera, hybrid now getting 40+mpg, 19" wheels, the radio is great in my option compared to the 22 XLT,
keyless entry and one touch locking, touch the top of the door handle doors lock I love it,
Push button start, I never have to take the key out of my pocket, acoustic glass, am sure am forgetting more, point is the 25 Lariat is a completely different truck, If I was still working a XL or XLT would of been fine, I got a company vehicle for over 25 years but always had a pickup in the driveway for weekend stuff. I worked over 55 years and I wanted some luxury, when you compare all the mid-size trucks in the 40k range your not getting half of the options in the Maverick Lariat. I get thumbs up all the time from guys with 60/70/80k trucks with my ceramic coated black package truck that fits in my driveway perfectly that gets 40+mpg now, their truck gets 15 maybe 18 mpg, its not a big deal till you retire or have a family to support, and when I sell it in 3/4 years I will get top dollar for it like I did with my 22 XLT.

My 2024 AWD Lariat Ecoboost in Hot Pepper Red is IMHO worth every penny of the $36,000 I paid for it.

Beating the 2025’s $4-$5,000 price increase was important to me as was getting the smaller infotainment screen and sum buttons !
Plus I got the Grandpa front end.

I was chatting with my friend about this. He asked me if the Maverick is worth it. I replied no and explained it was because of the higher prices and removal some "features". I understand inflation etc., but go from 20k for a XL to 29k (in my area) it's a bit much.

I paid around 32k for my 23 Lariat with BAP. I felt like I paid too much, because inventory wasn't hanging around too long. I'm pretty sure that the stock Lariat was around 25k in 2023.

"Is it worth it" doesn't really depend on past pricing, it depends on relative value vs your needs and also vs the price of similar goods.

Your reply is like someone saying that buying bread isn't worth it because it was on sale last week and this week it's regular price. Or saying "in 1950, a loaf was $0.25 and now it's $3. Not worth it!"

By that metric, NOTHING is worth buying anymore

Since Ford is removing features and increasing the price. The value isn't there. better?

Mavericks were never less than $21,495.

Lariats were absolutely not $25k in 2023 and in 22 you had to add packages to the Lariats where now they are fully loaded sans the 4K tow

You could actually get a Lariat without the B&O sound system.
