Switching from eco mode to sport is like Knight Rider Kitt car going to turbo mode!! Will this cause any Maverick owner to get a a speeding ticket?? I’ve all ready hit 120 mph and has anyone dare to reach 140 mph??

I find that I easily and accidentally burn rubber when leaving a stop sign. Dont think it is overkill, but I get what you are saying. It is like a different truck once it is on.

How have you reached 120? My maverick stops at 109mph as I believe that’s where the governor is

Wonder why the governor kicks in at 109 mph? Why so low? The Escape uses the same engine and 8 speed transmission. The 2.0L Escape's governor is 126 mph, the 1.5L is 122 mph. Did they maybe use a lower gearing on the Maverick? What gives Ford?

Yeah, mine is governed to 109 too, or was before we tuned it.

My Maverick is the AWD with the 4k package and yes at around 120 it seem to be the cutoff. I’m thinking if it’s governed or not ??

Might have something to do with the stock tires.

It's a fun toy but really doesn't ultimately change the power output of the engine. The mode rather changes the throttle response of the drive-by wire throttle body so it feels more hair trigger. It holds the transmission shift points at different spots and tightens its feel so it revs out higher which can make for faster acceleration.

The reviews I have seen really like sport mode. That is why I did not order FX4. Losing sport mode on a 250hp engine vs off road mode for what is really a softroader that will be rarely used did not make sense to me.

I’ve been using tow haul mode when I wish it was sport … not sure how similar they actually are
