Is a 370 CCA 12 v battery adequate for a 2024 Maverick Hybrid for Ohio winters? This is what Ford put in a New vehicle.

The 12v battery doesn't start the engine on a hybrid, it's only there to power the accessories

Even though it is not used for starting it is still not adequate. Switch to an AGM to avoid the inevitable deep sleep issues. Big upgrade from the OEM flooded battery and fits perfectly.

It’s adequate until it isn’t. Eyes wide open …. The OEM battery may last longer if you periodically put it on a smart charger. You will inevitably run into deep sleep issues and potentially a non-start/sulfation. The lesser OEM battery is a toy compared to what should have been installed. As mentioned in the prior post, put an AGM on your Amazon wish list and get ready to pull that trigger when you need to. This whole 12v battery issue, propagated by Ford, makes us all angry.

If your 12v reaches a particular threshold of declining state of charge, you won't be starting your truck. Ask me how I know. Portable jump starter to the rescue. It's always on hand.

You may delay some issues. But some people on MTC that have spent time & money for an AGM are still having battery issues.

My OEM non-AGM has been trouble-free for 24k miles. I'm sure occasionally putting it on a battery maintainer helps - which I've also done with batteries in my mower and other previously owned vehicles for years, to prolong battery lifetime (it works). I'll keep using the OEM battery until a fix for BMS is available.
