So I keep going back and forth between the hybrid and Ecoboost.

I drive 70 miles a day so I would definitely benefit from the hybrid, but it seems that as more Ecoboosts get into owners hands the reported mileage isn't too bad on those either.

I know FWD with good tires works just fine in the snow, and we really don't get much snow to cause too many problems, but AWD would be nice just in case.

I also don't really need the 4k tow at this time, but again nice to have just in case.

I don't have one yet, but I believe the main mileage benefit of the hybrid is in city traffic. How much of your 70miles is city? If mostly highway, I'm not sure you'll see a large benefit from the hybrid. Somebody else please correct me if I'm wrong.

It honestly depends on the route I take. Highway route, about 10 of those total 70 are 45 or less with stop lights.

If I go the alternate route it's a state route, 55 in a short section, otherwise 45 or less for a majority of it.

I have the 2.0 front wheel drive without the 4K tow. I drive 80 miles a day with 70 miles of it being highway and 10 city. I have 6,500 miles on the truck so far and am averaging 29 mpg. I'm typically going 75-80 on the highway. Most of the miles I've put on were my trips to work and back.
I did recently take a mostly highway trip for vacation and got 31 mpg.
I traded in a 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid on this so understand the mpg I gave up. I am happy with the 2.0 and the Maverick overall.

I love mine. Don’t have one issue with it. Have about 2800 miles on it.
Lots of power. Get about 22-24 in city and 29-30 on highway.

I'm enjoying my new XLT Lux 360 Ecoboost FWD, but it has only been 5 days. Comfortable, no squeeks, fast and 34MPG hiway.

Here come some road trips!

Would you please share your thoughts/experiences with your 2019 Fusion Hybrid. I am leaning towards a Hybrid XLT and your opinion would be valuable data for me.

I've got a hybrid and got 40mpg on a road trip from Dallas to Galveston.

In my opinion, there are only two drive trains worth investigating. EB, AWD, +4k tow and hybrid. It's my opinion, but if you need towing beyond 2k or AWD, go for it. If not, save your money and go hybrid.

Which is how I'm looking at it. I have no interest in the FWD Ecoboost

I'm coming from a 27 year old 2wd diesel that gets low to mid 20 mpg. So even low to mid 30s with a cheaper fuel will be good for me.

Here's some mileage and cost numbers to consider based on your usage:

Sounds like given your usage, you're looking at paying $5000-10,000 more for the AWD EB over 5 years (given additional up front costs and 70-80% hwy usage). So about $1-2K per year, $80-160 per month, $20-50 per week, or about $2.70 to $5.50 per day.

You just have to figure out how many "just in cases" are worth the cost premium of the EB AWD.

This was my thought and why I went hybrid. The awd would be nice but not necessary. And the tow package the one time a year I might need it wasn't worth the cost the 99% of the time I didn't.
But if you need to tow over 2k with regularity, go for the 4k awd eco.
