This thread made me paranoid and I won't even have my truck for another month. I'm planning to hit everything with 303 straight away. That's probably the easiest solution, not that it's really much protection.

I believe those that say some of the plastic scratches easily but I've got about 1500 miles on my Maverick that's been my daily driver since April and I have no scratches that I can find. I don't transport children and only occasionally have others in the cab though.

I had a new 2006 F-150 King Ranch and I religiously treated the leather with King Ranch branded leather protectorate. Unfortunately, the leather scratched very easily. My first scratch I was shocked and tried worked hard to blend it in. After a few scratches, I realized the King Ranch leather was more like a saddle than I thought. After all, scratches on a working saddle are badges showing the battles fought on horseback. You learn to appreciate the looks of a nice scratched up working saddle. If you want a show saddle you have to pay up for it, not that working saddles are cheap. I assume the Maverick interiors are along the lines of a working saddle and if you want a show interior then there are lots of custom leather companies and even some really tough and great interiors available. We just to pay up.
Most reasonable response on this topic.

Chemical Guys VRP seems to take care of what light marks I’ve found. No kid transport but a Doberman in the back for many hours without scratches. Coming up on 6 months and interior stills looks like day one.

Don't be. I think people are just a lot rougher than they believe themselves to be. My interior still looks near flawless after 2k miles.

I do understand that trucks will take a beating and not to get OCD over it. But Ford is targeting the space to go after compact truck space and fill the void of not having sedans. I’m old guy. I get it. But the target buyer will be younger crowd who will be using it as a daily driver and most likely not as a workhorse. All that being said, I paid $39,000 for fully loaded Lariat. That’s not a price to accept quality issues even for a truck marketed as low frills. I love the truck. I’ll live with it. But Ford is a reputable company that usually puts out quality vehicles. I would think they would want to address a material quality issue, be it $20,000 or $90,000 vehicle. This compact truck space will get crowded very soon and the Maverick getting out ahead may be short lived with the competition on the horizon coming fast with better quality & value. So far, I like almost everything about this little truck that’s not so little when you drive it!

I'm wondering what some if these folks did to cause some these blemishes? It is plastic! If you hit it with something hard enough, it is going to cause some type of blemish.

I think we're harder on stuff than we realize. To think plastic isn't going to get nicked up a bit is silly.
Not damage or usage for my Maverick. Mine was delivered with worn looking surfaces from the factory. It’s either manufacturing process or materials being used. Ford replaced door panel, and door pillar plastics after rep looked at my Maverick. New parts definitely look much better. Hopefully they will hold up over time. My dealer and Ford did the right thing to resolve this issue.

have you got before and after photos? im quite interested in this. i wonder if it took off the "color transfer" from something that scratched it, or is covering it in a way where the light does not reflect like a scratch, not sure how to do that, as imo the only way it will fully vanish is to fill the scratch like touch up paint or something similiar. may have just misinterpreted though

I've had good results from both Griots and Meguiars interior protectant in making scratches and scuffs either diminish a great deal or become unnoticeable.

For scuffs on the drivers side of the center console I discovered Ford had not put any anti-scuff material on the back of the seatbelt latch - strangely they have it on the passengers side belt. Sometimes the belt catch would rub against the console leaving scuffs. I found a very close match of soft felt @ a craft store and some double sided fabric tape and covered the back of the belt latch, buffed out the scuffs with protectant and they have not come back.

On the B-pillar scratches all I could figure was I was brushing against it while exiting the truck, rivets on my jeans seemd a likely culprit. Buffed those out for the umpteenth time and started paying attention to not rubbing my jeans against the b-pillar. No more scuffs there.

A cut appeared on the gray recycled stuff right under the radio controls - who knows. I call it a cut as it had a burr. I rubbed this down in the direction opposite the cut with a nylon interior trim tool, driving the burr back down into the cut - damn plastic is so soft the burr laid back down and the scratch / cut is now invisible.

Yes, the plastics are very soft..............

I scratched my door panel mishandling it when I removed it to apply sound deadener. So this method is not for the faint of heart. Heat up the area and dab it as it cools. Just understand you'll lose the texture of the panel but at least it will kind of sort of blend in. Obviously you don't want to hold the flame in one spot for too long -just long enough to start melting the plastic.

Before and after pictures below. From the naked eye, it looks like someone with greasy fingers touched it.

It looks much better than the scuffs and scratches. Wonder if we could find some exact matching paint to resolve the greasy fingerprint problem? Good job and thanks for a solution.
