Hello Maverick friends, I probably have read all the posts here about this subject but want to share my accumulated experiences and tests I have done.

I have a 2022 Maverick Lariat Hybrid, which I really like. I have a wonderful Ford Dealership where I purchased the Maverick and they have already done 6 or 7 recall/updates. But!, this is my on going problem: Truck interior lights worked fine for around one year and then developed the problem of at times no interior lights. After reading much here on the form one post mentioned they replaced the battery with the specific Die Hard Gold Battery for the Ford Maverick. I installed it ($212.00-ouch!) and did the reset of the BMS and left the truck sit unused for 8 hours and all went well. For the next 9 months it worked perfectly and thought all was well but not so and started the same problem over again. I purchased a new battery charger to replace my older model (this time $65.00 ouch!)recommended for vehicles with a lot of electronics and have recharged several times but after each time and within a week or 2 repeated the same problem. Over the past several days the light has not been coming on again so this morning I put the charger on the same way (In the engine compartment-terminals) and after a very short while it said it was fully charged so I checked and the battery read 12.8 volts (Hi quality Fluke meter) which is fine, but still no interior lights coming on. I want to mention I have a friend who purchased a 2022 Maverick XLT and we have replaced his battery and after some months now doing the same. As much as my friend and I like our Mavericks it takes some of the luster off the purchase. Hope this may be informative.

🤔
It seems to me some Maverick's have some sort of parasitic drain.
I still have the original battery in my Maverick.
In October, I experienced the no interior lights situation. That was after I had already turned off everything through infotainment system. I have since removed the 11/12 fuse and hooked up a 4A charger.
I have charged the battery once and I did the battery reset once.
These are things we should not have to do especially on a new vehicle. It sure would be nice to use the advertised features Ford built into the truck without having a low or dead battery.
I just walked out to the truck to check and all the lights came on.
So far so good🙏

There is an interior 3-position light function switch overhead. Is it in the centre position, or did somebody touch it?
If that's not it, get the battery checked for sulphation. It will show 12V-12.8V on a voltmeter, but cannot hold a charge.

Agreed. Not sure if there is a question or a statement in there...........

Anyway, we have all come to the agreement that the battery saver mode is a software program on the Maverick. It kicks in due to the Ford App using a lot of juice long after the truck is shut down. Some have pulled Fuse 11 and deleted the app off their phones. I can live with no dome lights and sleep messages now that I know why the truck is doing it.

What I couldn't live with is having my brand new truck for less than 6 weeks and having a completely dead battery in the morning. Then going out and buying a flooded battery and having this battery go dead 8 weeks later.

I have been on an AGM batter since May of this year. 8 sleep messages with no dome lights......but NO dead battery.

I'm happy.

Because the AGM battery hold more charge, it will take longer to discharge to a critical point. It does not resolve the real problem. In your case, something must be draining the battery, like a stuck relay or a third-party add-on. Get the shut-down current draw checked, and figure out what is not functioning correctly.

Mine is doing the same thing. No interior lights despite repeated charging and bms resets hoping that it would solve the problem like it seemed to before. I have an AGM that shows it's at high voltage as well. I used to have the issue where I would have no lights when I opened the door after sitting for a while but after I drove around for a while they would start to work. Now they just don't work at all.

What's frustrating though is that the ambient lighting works, the outside safety lighting works, the bed light works and the rear dome light works if I tap it on, but no dome lights come on with the doors and the front dome light won't come on at all. I can't even use the tap feature or the 3 way switch to turn the dome lights on. I'm wondering if the actual dome light board is toast.

Just like yours. My dome lights would not come on when the door was open but yet I could manually turn them on. The only time the dome light switch was moved, was when I took the picture illustrating how the light from the overhead dome light illuminates the glove box. So, I know the switch was not out of position.
Nobody else uses my trucks but me.
I previously turned off Ford Pass in the truck. I have no idea if I was getting low battery warnings or not.

I had mine checked out a couple months ago because I got a couple "battery saving mode" messages popped up randomly on the app (so I had them check when I had an oil change). Took it to my dealership and they gave me the unfortunate "just need to drive it for longer distances so it will charge the battery up". they even hooked the battery up to their machine that tested it over a couple hours?... and it passed. and they didnt find anything immediately wrong otherwise.

Just that I need to drive it for longer distances. Which is annoying, why do I need to drive at least an hour or two in one drive to make sure the battery is charged up enough to use all the features. Seems like something isnt correct and should be fixed. but just within the last 2 weeks I started getting the messages pop up frequently on my phone...along with the interior dome lights do not come on when doors are opened issue. When they did charge/test the battery it worked up until the last couple weeks (I also had a couple multi-hour trips in that span as well). but now up here in WI it is getting colder and I bet that isnt helping the battery/voltage issue. so now its "getting to low" and goes into its "safe mode".

But im not a technician/engineer or nothing, so I dont know anything. But would love to see on here or elsewhere on the internet an actual solution to this inconvenience.

I hope the software fix for these battery issues comes in the first quarter of 2025 (as promised by Ford).

By the time you started getting the battery issue notices on your FLA, it was probably already getting sulfated and on its way to ruin. An AGM though, won't sulfate like an FLA will, when kept at a less than optimum charge. That's why your AGM is still working.

Hopefully, Ford will fix the charging software and/or battery drain issues sometime in the first quarter of 2025.

Until Ford comes up with a fix for this, your best bet is to buy a battery tender that will attempt to desulfate your flooded-lead-acid battery. The instructions tell you how to use it and how to determine the desulfation process has finished. Or buy an AGM battery, which is less susceptible to sulfation from less than optimal charging. You still may get battery saver notices though, if the AGM is not kept fully charged.

SSM 53087 2022-2024 Maverick - FHEV - Intermittent 12V Battery Drain When The Ignition Is Turned Off
Some 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may experience an intermittent 12V battery drain condition when the ignition is turned off. If the 12V battery drains, perform a 12V power reset to the vehicle by disconnecting the 12V battery negative cable for 5 minutes. Fully charge the 12V battery and use the Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 tester to determine if replacement is needed. If replacement is needed, fully charge the new battery and perform a battery monitor sensor (BMS) reset. Engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected in the first quarter of 2025. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
Like you guys, this has been a consistent problem for me, I got my THIRD battery a few weeks ago and hope Ford will take care of the under warranty, even though my 3/36 ends 1/19/2025...
