interesting. serves a purpose without dwarfing the wheels like other arch mouldings.
Exactly. Most of the wheel well trim is really large and makes the stock tires look small (besides being very expensive). I didn't want to change the overall look of the vehicle, but wanted the protection this provides.

If you get a chance, could you take close up photos of it? especially the area at the lip of the wheel arch?

Thanks @Wetfoot77 I've been looking at another Dawn trim piece for some time but haven't pulled the trigger. Yours look good! I like the minimalist look.
Dawn has been making trim parts here in Cleveland Ohio since 1973.

I generally dislike the look of most add-ons, but this minimalist option looks great.

What stops that narrow space above the 3M tape and inside of the trim from collecting sand, leaf waste, etc from building up & getting wet & rotting thru the paint unless you find a way to clean it out on a regular basis? I like to keep my vehicles for 10 years or more.

I wanted to do one of these as well and that's the exact thought I had.
I was thinking some sort of clear protective tape, and then this thing would offer really good protection.

Protection for protection? I was just thinking these would be good for covering any chips and dings that happen down the road. .... If it becomes a problem.

They can trap water/dirt in them and lead to premature rusting.

My point was that I don't think they're needed for protection in the first place. If you like the look, then protect them. I have a 1993 Nissan with 285k and the wheel opening lips are one area that still looks great.

Received my truck last summer and wanted to protect the edges of the wheel well from rock chips. I found this gloss black wheel well molding for less than $50. It looks sharp ans does a good job protecting the paint. Here's the link. https://www.carid.com/dawn/glossy-black-wheel-well-trim-mpn-tcm8752502-hg.html?singleid=1556846557
Dawn also manufactures several other sizes if you want a different look.

Good idea, but I have one concern. Water. After installing it and running it awhile, particularly in wet conditions, can you somehow check and see if any water is between it and the truck lip? Water is insidious, and God knows what permanent water in there could do, in a very short time. Thanks in advance.

Ya you're absolutely right about that, I think it would mostly be for the look vs. the protection.
