Finally installed my ditch lights with amber running lights to match the front end lighting. I ordered the brackets from JJC on Etsy @jjcllc @JJC (Tag him) I also ordered a 2 spot toggle switch 3d insert for the cubby next to the touch screen off of Etsy from @gadcad3d. I need to get a piece to hold it in place better.
Turned out great. I have a toggle for the amber runners and the other is for the ditch light. They are direct wired to power but I’ll probably change it to ignition so I dont forget to leave them on.

All of the amber looks pretty sharp. Are you able to share where you got the strip from? Maybe an update on how it's holding up after a month?

So these are street legal - Florida laws are rater particular - I see "DavesMav" responding here with interest - curious have you done the research related to FL DMV law and colored light placed on a vehicle? I recall in 2002 my son had placed some light blue LEDs onto the wiper blade "hub" on his 1995 Honda Civic... driving in the West Palm Beach area, daylight time, we were pulled over and cited for those lights. I thought it to be "petty" - the officer explained that colored lights on a vehicle create the impression of a First Responder vehicle approaching from behind. Mind you, these lights were tiny and just bright enough to "look cool" but not large at all! Hard to believe anyone would mistake it for 1st Responder lighting... alas we paid the fine and removed the lights. Just some rambling recollections of days gone by...

Having ditch lights incorporated into the outside mirrors, now that's a solution I could go for.

The front of the stock mirrors is basically wasted space and, lighting works better mounted higher up on the vehicle. The lights could be part of the auto dim feature because they would be very annoying to oncoming traffic.

Sounds like a project for an aftermarketer.

Now if I could just get my truck!

They would not be street legal in MO.

I tagged you in the original post. They’ve held up fine no problem!

There are vehicles like the Kia…. K5, Kia telluride, and certain f150s that use amber running lights from the factory. I would never point anything forward that wasn’t white or amber, that would be a huge ticket.

up here in Canada, you are only allowed white light or Amber on the front of a vehicle. Though things get messy with enforcement. The laws vary from province to province, but some police interpret the MVA as essentially you cannot modify from stock and must be replaced with the same spec of the manufacturer, meaning you cannot add any lights, nor swap amber for white, or white for amber....though this I had a heated discussion with an officer once about my amber fogs which were white from the factory. the amber bulbs were of the same luminosity as factory and thus legal in my view and he conceded that this was only their interpretation that they had to be white, not the letter of the law to which I said see you in court and he tore up the ticket
This was the statute under debate

4.02 (2) A vehicle on a highway must be equipped with lamps equivalent to those provided by the original manufacturer in accordance with the requirements that applied under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Canada), or a predecessor to that Act, at the time of vehicle manufacture.

Same for the rear, only amber/red for turn signals and red everywhere else are permitted, with the exception for white for the reverse.

Any use of any other color lights like blue, green etc is illegal pretty much anywhere.

This being said, using amber for DRL is applied with other vehicles and I love it. I think it looks great here!

Wow - the amber running lights look awesome across the top of the grill. I also really like the switch placement, great option for that open cubby.

Where I live Blue lights are only on Police cars. Other emergency vehicles like fire trucks have red forward pointing lights. But for non-emergency vehicles lights on the front should be white, yellow or amber.

They look great. You did a nice fit and finish on the install. One question. You don't find lighting up the hood annoying or distracting?

Looking for an option for the side mirrors. Something larger but that has low profile lights that are aimed down and out. Looking at putting something in the foglight slot as well. I like the amber lights.
