Well I finally received my Hybrid Lariat EG Monday afternoon. I love it but I found a really BAD bit of engineering on Ford's part. I have the factory bed extender and it fits really well under my LOMAX Stance hard folding bed cover BUT... When I went to install a 12v power outlet and a USB outlet into the 2 flexbed power covers in the bed I found that the 2 outlets are totally unusable due to the bed extender blocking them when the extender is open or closed. The only time the outlets are accessible is if the bed extender is perfectly VERTICLE! How do you tie that one up? You would think Ford could have figured that one out and moved the 2 outlet locations where they would be usable!

I consider that just a holding place for the wire. Is it even usable with the tailgate closed? People have mounted the actual plug in the rear cubbies or the cover plate for them. Even extend the wire and mount anywhere under the box rail.

Is there any clearance at all between the bed extender and the flexbed covers? Wondering if you could use something like this to get around the limited space?

It's kind of hard to visualize what you're talking about. Could you post a picture?
It could help future owners decide if they want the bed extender or not.

I know what you are talking about. On the left hand side of the inside of the truck bed there is an outlet. It's kinda hard to get to when the bed extender is folded inwards. I normally just make it work somehow. You can remove the bed extender if needed.

Since FORD does not offer the 12V or USB outlets that you have, they do not have to consider what the aftermarket is offering. As others have mentioned, it's more of an access point for the Flexbed wiring pigtail. Since they provide plenty of length with the provided extension, mount your outlets elsewhere.

I have that ford bed extender also, and I'd not be upset it covers the 12v spots. I agree with Hot Runr Guy that you'd be better off adding a 12v over by the AC/LED area if you must use the bed extender with a 12v at the same time. I'm just happy we have so many options to rig up anything we want, honestly.
