Never thought I'd own a pickup truck, but I just purchased a 2022 Hybrid Maverick. I perused some posts yesterday and thought it was great information and am looking forward to learning from you all. I traded in my Prius and will be selling my '84 VW Westfalia. I'm hoping the Maverick will be a great compromise between the two vehicles. I'm getting a tonneau cover and mud flaps installed tomorrow. I'd like to get a hood protector. Suggestions? Any other must-haves?

Welcome! First and foremost, the most critical must-have is an online photo of your truck that we can all admire. :)

I'd get these floormats, a cubby organizer and a back seat cover for wet gear/dogs, etc..

Thanks so much for your suggestions! I appreciate them very much...
I can't believe it but the backseat cover I bought for my Prius is black with orange seams so it's PERFECT for my new Maverick. My truck came with all weather mats so I'm good to go there. AND...I have a safe in my center console so I ordered (through Amazon) a top loader caddy for it - not sure if that will even fit.

Thanks! Is this what helps gradually lower the tailgate? I've been looking into them - any you prefer?
Ordered mine from the dealer ($50) and they just installed it for free when prepping the truck. Best $50 I've spent on the truck as it keeps my wife from dropping it hard all of the time. If you leave someting on the bumper and drop the tailgate.. probably won't react in time and it's a dented tailgate ... With the strut installed, If you leave something on the bumper and open, then you probably have time to react to remove the thing quickly as you admire the tailgate opening in slow motion. It's the only luxury option that can be had for $50 LOL.

As far as hood protectors go, there are numerous options available, depends on your preferences. Do a search on this forum with terms "hood protector" or "bug shield" and you'll find quite abit of info that might help you decide. Personally I chose the Ford/Lund smoke version. Links to some off the top of my head below. Congrats and Good Luck on all your mods. It's a great little truck.
