I noticed the system quite correctly has detected each incident where a car in front of me has done hard braking or a pedestrian was in the view of the camera going around a corner.

I have had a few incidents of false positive, maybe two at most.

The system has never engaged braking automatically.

I can't say it "avoided a collision" but I almost was in a serious accident where another driver didn't yield, I saw the potential accident right before the computer did, but the warning did pop up. The braking was hard enough that plastic trim pieces under the seat flew out.

I hope whoever dinged the seatbelt stuff steps on a lego every day for the rest of their life.

For F's sake, on the XL and XLT minus FX4, the seat belt stuff is BEYOND obnoxious.

Unbelievable the nanny level of this crap.

The headlight thing doesn't make sense, the Mavericks headlights are far better than many vehicles, the nice thing is that the low beams stay on when the high beams are activated, so you can see both near & far. Since vehicles went away from sealed beams to composite, most do not activate both at the same time.
IMVHO the Maverick's head lights are the best I have experienced in my 52 years of driving.

A Truck Driver friend of mine lost a little control of his own bodily functions while driving his semi thru a curve on the freeway and an empty, black plastic trash bag, blew across in front of him. If the load would have SH--TED, robotics would be to blame for taking lives. Arnold tried to warn us.

And because I like the Santa Cruz: 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz (iihs.org) Wow the SC blows away the Maverick in comparison!! I still like what Ford has created... but the more I read about the Santa Cruz, and experience as an owner of the Limited - I am a BIG Fan of the Santa Cruz!
We’ll then go play on the foreign car site, why are you here? I don’t want to read about your happy time with your foreign crap

They'll be a huge upgrade for you. They're only "meh" if you're coming from other vehicles with great headlights.

I am not a big fan as I find them ugly as sin, but you cannot deny they knocked it out of the park on the crash testing.

Regarding the Maverick's headlights. They are average for sure. I like the auto headlights those work pretty well. My last couple of vehicles I installed my own LED's and they were much brighter than these. However, I am not dissatisfied. My 2016 Chevy Colorado.. now that was some terrible headlights. These are fantastic in comparison to many vehicles out there. These test someone really make me wonder how legit they are especially when considering the seat belt reminder.

I'm fine with the Maverick headlights and the four vehicles prior to this Maverick were Audis, one which had a computer dedicated to the headlights. I never noticed much difference when the headlights turned. I think the computerized headlights were more polite to oncoming traffic, especially on hills but the Maverick does not leave me longing for the Audi system.

Have had many cars with AEB and none of them have been sensitive enough to brake for a bird. I have had “phantom” braking events, but you know it is about to happen because the car warns you. And it’s very easy to drive through. In no situation is AEB going to slam on the brakes, without warning, so hard that you’re going to get rear-ended.
My Honda civic add to phantom events where it absolutely slammed on the brakes with no warning and almost made my heart pound out of my chest therefore I turned off the system and never had a problem ever again it’s silly that the systems are on the road and functioning where they actually don’t work 100% of the time. I think the average driver would’ve had an accident because of this by freaking out and jerking the wheel

Again, thank you for proving my point that the system in a rally car, no matter how much more it takes than a standard passenger car, even just a little, is a significant usability concern from multiple perspectives including ease of use, correct use, user will to follow single step vs. multi-step processes, plus cost concerns and who knows what else I could be missing.

Yes, that is the topic, and your initial replies were specifically about how you didn't trust the AEB feature or see it as a basic safety system.
NO Idea who you're responding too, Bear. On this or all the other responses.
