When I put my key into my 2022 XLT's (14,000 miles Ecoboost) ignition switch and turned it to start nothing happened. No dash lights. Nothing. It was as if the battery was completely dead. I tried it again with the same result. The third time it worked as advertised and has worked the next day.
Has anyone else had this happen? Just a glitch, I hope. If it happens again I'm going to try to start it with Ford Pass.

Understand. But it would still mean something ( not sure what) if it started.

was the instrument panel lit up as expected on the first 2 failed attempts?

I am not sure if it's feasible to check the ignition wiring yourself, but you can definitely check out the battery terminal connections to sure they are not loose or corroded, and you can check the charge on the battery for free at places like AutoZone.

22 XLT AWD @13,000 miles. Turned key, dash lit up, nothing else. Turned off and retried, dash lit up, nothing else. Turned off and 3rd try car started as usual. Worked as usual a few times today. Not bothering calling dealer because I’m tired of can not duplicate.

Less then 14,000 miles… happened Tuesday morning. Once, nothing… second time, nada…, Third time started right up. Don’t want to bring it to the dealer as I tried that with the shitty radio and they say “can’t replicate “. All over MTC is same issues but dealers are no help.

Anyone ever get any answers about the cause of this "glitch" ??? My 23 Tremor has done it twice now the past week.

Get in the truck, close door, buckle seat belt, insert key, turn the key and nothing... radio turns on, instrument panel lights up but no start cycle. Try again same results... might be coincidence but I remove the key, open the drivers door, close drivers door, insert key and voila! The darn thing starts up like it should.
To my thinking it's acting like a temporary loss of communication on the bus to the the BCM or some other module and it's acting like my doing my entry routine over again reboots the system.

Like everyone else, I'm not brining it to the dealer just to hear " can't duplicate customer concern"

No answers in this thread obviously. It hasn't happened to me since my first post. Didn't take it to my dealer either.

It's getting to the point that: A) I think the vehicle is possesed... B) Ford has some real hardware issues with the electronics in this thing....

Went out to run some errands today and everything seemed fine until I shut the vehicle off... the wife and I open the doors to get and we notice that the radio is staying on.. OK, I'll hit the power button, no dice radio stays on, dash says lit up as if the truck is running.. OK, I'll put the key back in the dam thing, start it up, radio still won't respond to any input - volume won't work. Power button does nothing... Shut the key off, radio still going....Now I'm getting kinda aggravated....Get out of truck open and close ALL the doors.... No change... open the hood and disconnect the dam bus connectors near the battery, and finally the dam thing shuts down.... Reconnect the bus connections, Say a few choice words directed at Ford for the amount of electrical gremlins this thing is developing...

So you think I'm done with my adventure???

Not quite... hit the lock button on my fob twice to lock it up. Seems ok... then we notice the GD headlights and such aren't turning off...

I was extremely tempted to leave the thing so the battery would die and then call roadside assistance... but who needs that aggravation and if course delay waiting for them...

Disconnecting the same two connections as before had no effect.. different circuit I suppose, fed by an entirely different data bus.... F this.... finally after two full start stop cycles in the parking spot the lights go off after second lock press in fob..

All this to say that the "memory leak" that Ford seems to think is causing the screen to lock up may be more involved than they want to admit....

I waited 367 days to take delivery of this dam thing and this is what we get?? A commodore 64 on wheels that requires constant rebooting???

Maybe the recent cold weather is slowing down the electrons?? IDK...

I can't be the only one...

Understand. But it would still mean something ( not sure what) if it started.
But if it can't see an allowed key in ignition, or that it was turned to On - the requirement to turn it to On after Remote start isn't being met, unless you hit the 3rd attempt again.

So if climate controls in correct spot you'll have warm cab - but not going anywhere.

Hope you got it addressed while 3 yr warranty was good.
