Well, I decided to go for it and ordered another Ford Maverick Lariat. This time, I included the FX4 package for the extra $800 since it offers hill descent control that will be needed when I eventually move back up north. I also chose a different color, Hot Pepper Red Metallic. I've always enjoyed metalflake colors that speckle in the sun. Plus, they do a better job at hiding imperfections. My sales manager says that it'll more than likely be another half year wait like my first one. What's reassuring is that since it's an Ecoboost, the chance of it being built is much greater than the constrained Hybrids. He also said that a lot of Mavericks have already been scheduled for the month of November so they'll be pumped out in a timely manner. This shows that the production of the Maverick is improving.
I've enjoyed my current Maverick so much that I would want to order it again (despite price increases) and that's what I did. What's great is not having a drastic change in scenery. I almost decided to get a Subaru but they're too small, expensive, and I would kick myself for losing the practicality of a pickup bed. It's been a great truck for me which is why I decided to stick with the Maverick. It's very comfortable to drive, practical, fuel efficient, looks good, and is a great conversation starter for interested onlookers. I sure can't wait for my next one! Thanks for reading.
