So I had a lady back into me with a Uhaul two months ago after waiting 7 months for my order to come in, finally got the parts in and dropped her off today to get fixed. I'm set up in a 2020 Tacoma and I HATE IT!

I really like the looks of the Taco and in fact, before the prices started getting extra ridiculous, it was on my list to check out along with the other mid-sizers. I now realize that it was never going to happen. Literally as soon as I sat in the drivers seat I knew this wasn't the truck for me. Now it's not a fully loaded rental, just a crew-cab SR5, but even with that I just can't get comfortable in it. I'm no giant (6'1), but I can't fit in it comfortably. My legs bunch up and I have to move the steering wheel up every time I get out of it, and the steering wheel isn't in a great place for me either. The only things I do like is the height and the little bit of extra bed length and width, but it's a midsize BoF truck, so....

I think part of the issue is that the floor pan is so much higher than I'm used to, sure it's great for ground clearance but there's no way I could drive for more than an hour in that thing before I'd need to stop and stretch my legs. I've owned trucks before, but I've never had one that sat so low before. I'd hope that a seat lift is included on the higher spec models, but I honestly don't know.

Also, coming from the hybrid the mileage is atrocious and I'm not a fan of all the glare on the screen. It's going to be a looooonnnnnggggg few days until I get her back.

Just a little bit of venting from a sad Mav owner.

Surprised you lost money on the Toyota. Did you sell it privately or at one of the places like carvana?

For sure, if you're not an off-roader or fanboy the taco is a poor choice. Spent a couple hours in a friends some time ago, couldn't get out of that thing fast enough......

FWIW, you'll probably be getting your Mav back from the body shop before many of us get our Mavs at all :(

Yep. My exact thoughts I why I couldn't own a Tacoma, and even more thankful for my Maverick for it's sensible layout, ride height, etc.

For sure. Should have it back by Thursday. And you're right, at least I was able to get mine.

Good luck! May the scheduling God's smile upon you!

I feel your pain, with the Tacoma at least. That's what my trade-in was and I absolutely hated it for the same reasons. The seating position was horrible thanks to the high floor, fuel economy was atrocious, and it lacked any power. That truck was such a dog getting up to speed. And the clunky 6-speed automatic transmission that desperately needed a couple of extra gears for better shifts and fuel economy. The Maverick is so much better in every way. It's very comfortable, fuel economy is decent on the EB that I have but is fantastic with the Hybrids, and the transmission shifts very well. There may be a little clunk in lower gears here and there but it's not very often. I absolutely love it and don't regret my decision. I just hope it's reliable. That's what I worry about most. I'm hoping since this Ecoboost is a carry-over engine that they've been using for years in many different Fords, it should be relatively trouble-free without too many kinks at this point.

I had a young kid with his girlfriend who rear ended me in a parking lot. This happened 1 month ago. The body shop called yesterday and the ETA for the bumper is mid May. At least my Maverick is drivable...

I haf to grab some ramps for the house from harbor freight yesterday and the guy that came out said that's not a truck.... I asked him what his was and he said a 2010 ram so i followed with ya mine is a little smaller gets double the has mileage, better in the snow, has more comfort, and is faster... so I guess maybe it isn't. He handed me the ramps and walked away and didn't say a word as he walked away. As soon as they cleared the door I heard the other guy giving him shit about not being able to counter anything I said.
