And then this spunky, decked out, low-miles 2017 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk came on the market for a great price. No, it's not a truck. No, its little naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine and clunky transmission will not be winning any drag races. And maybe it's a little small for big road trips. But it will go anywhere the Tremor would have gone, it's still a ton of fun, and even with the purchase of a 75k mile bumper-to-bumper extended warranty for that infamous Jeep (un)reliability, I still saved north of $10k over the Tremor. No regrets...so far.

OP, I would not cancel your order, just let it ride. If it actually gets built, then you'll have options. "canceling" will just allow your dealer to take it as inventory, they will not cancel it from being built. Something to think about.

I was talking to my wife about jumping to one of the dozen Bronco Sports my dealer has. But we decided there was a reason I was getting a truck. It is the truck part I want.

To be fair, the Bronco Sports are pretty damn fun rigs. Ordered ours as a backup Incase the Maverick never got built. Planned on trading it in when the Maverick came in. Think I'll keep them both now. Always had pickups and muscle cars but this little square box has grown on me.

You are right Dalola! OP has first right to buy what will be a very rare truck because only 10% of all Mavs will be T's. The build is reserved at msrp under his name and DL#, the dealer cannot take it from him unless he cancels. They will high five each other when he hands them a $20k ADM. I bet he would easily make $10k on a flip.

OP says cost of owning a T is only $10k more than the Renegade. I would choose the Mav T with it's turbo engine. I have videos on my channel of my AWD in the snow covered hills of Park City. No problem from a full stop up a steep incline. It's like a little race truck on dry roads. Getting a tune will make it over 300 HP. The T will be next level.

$10k more for a brand new Tremor and warranty vs the 5 year old used Renegade with not much room to haul toys like in the bed of a Maverick seems like an easy decision to not cancel.

How do you like the interior space .Curious if they were roomy enough

The interior space and the small gas tank were my two biggest concerns with getting the Renegade but both have proven to be just fine for us so far! My distant third place concern was reliability which is why I bought the extended warranty Like @Mav2024 said above (among the many other problems he had with his Renegade), we bought this one knowing the MySky panels don't work right--although they are super fun I would skip them if you buy one, cause they seem to be issue-prone.
It is impressively roomy inside for the size of vehicle it is. Several years ago I owned a little Chevy Trax which is in the same size class as the Renegade, but the Renegade is so much more roomy it's not even a comparison. My husband and I have taken it skiing several times already and put all equipment inside the car (including skis and poles) and been comfortable, without having to put anything in the back seat (other than the skis through the middle). With skis on roof racks you could load up four adults and all their stuff for a <2hr ride to the ski hill. My husband is 6'7" with mile-long legs and he says he is more comfortable in the Renegade than most small and mid-size vehicles, including the Hyundai Tucson we had previously which is more Jeep Cherokee-sized. It's tight, but I can actually sit behind him in the back seat if needed, and I'm 5'9" myself.
Regarding the fuel range, it's around 300-325 miles on a full tank. I wish it was better, but it's really only an annoyance on a road trip--and let's be real, we all have to stop at least that often to pee anyway. The range is probably a bit better in the non-Trailhawk version, but even with the Trailhawk I've been pretty impressed with the fuel economy at highway speeds (around 27-29 mpg at 55-65 mph). Like most vehicles its mpg seems to totally suck at 80 mph, which is fortunately/unfortunately the freeway speed limit around here.

I wonder if the Maverick interior is roomier the the Renegade. They seem about the same.
Retracting the panel is something I rarely do, but I like removing both panels when I can. My mpg for 27K miles is 24.2

Had a 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk. Wasn't bad and I really liked the way it looked. Ultimately I got rid of it though because it was just too slow. You had to completely floor it to merge with highway traffic. I think it's because the Trailhawk model is heavier than the others.

But like I said, other than the lack of acceleration I really liked the car overall.
