I often find myself doing 65 on the county roads without realizing it. It wants to go and handles Soo much better than my Ram did. I heard somewhere that the max torque rating on the transmission is 250 lb/ft and the computer keeps it under that threshold. Can anyone confirm that?

Don't you just love it when someone "parks" in the right land when you try to merge on to the interstate? Move it over Commadore!!!!;):D
Use the acceleration lane to, um, accelerate and I won't have to. :)

Seriously though, I am purposeful driver. If I can get over, I will. And then immediately get back in the right lane.

In my state, non-city freeway speed is 75. If you went that slow, you'd cause hella road rage and probably get run over. At the least, you'd get flipped off a lot!
Speed limit is 70 on our interstates. So, I set it to 75. In most situations, I am going the speed of traffic. Anyone wanting to do 80 are welcome to it. State Troopers need someone to fund their operations...

The combination of instant torque and the lack of gear changes means the maverick hybrid picks up speed super effortlessly up until about 50 mph. So many times I look down and I'm like, wow, I'm barely touching the gas but I'm already going 10 over the limit. There's no way the maverick hybrid setup "only" has 155 lb ft of torque. I believe reliable independent tests have shown it produces up to 267 lb ft briefly in the real world. That feels far more accurate.
It's not really that fast, 7.5s 0-60. About average for an entry level SUV.

7 seconds is almost on par with some entry level sports cars like the Miata or gt86. Plus I'm mostly talking about lower speed acceleration. You're basically instantly at 30-40 mph.

Still feels slow compared to my previous hybrid car (6.5 0-60), but it was lighter weight with similar power. ;)

I almost said this but I didn't want to be involved lol

Glad someone else said it.

Most vehicles of all sizes are in that range now days. It's just enough to make the butt dyno happy. New Colorado's with the 2.7 are in that range and so are 1500's with all three engine options. I know because it was a big discussion on those forums and I had an order placed for one previously.

Someone should make a dragy comparison. All in normal and then in sport.
Hybrid FWD
EB FWD
EB AWD
EB 4K (Due to the change in gear ratio, I'd like to see how it stacks up)

I'm willing to bet they are all within the same margin.

I like it that you shoot straight. When I bought my first (compact) car, I thought it was so good and quite fast. I knew I was a fool when I moved to a snow bird town where most cars were fully loaded. I could not catch up to any one when traffic lights turned green. 7+ sec was fast in 1980s. As of today with so many electric cars around, I would say 0-60 for 7sec is slow. 5sec is decent. 3sec is fast. There were so many times ICE car drivers were surprised by my EV acceleration power.

I was shocked when Car & Driver got their XLT EB with FX4 package into a sub 6 second 0-60. I think they clocked a 5.9 which is incredibly fast for a vehicle at this price point and size.

And before anyone says the difference between a 5.9 0-60 and a 7.7 0-60 isn't all that much....you're wrong.....It is.

For anyone wondering what the true performance numbers are for the hybrid and the EB here are the numbers that C&D found when they tested the 22MY Maverick.

If it's not obvious the hybrid in on the left and EB is on the right.

NGL, my butt dyno wouldn't be able to tell the difference lol. Both are quick enough for me. Not as quick as that Mach-E you got though ;)

Pretty sure I'd notice the difference in that one. Less than 4 seconds isn't it?

Haha not really an apples to apples comparison between a Mach-E and a Maverick but I never pass up the chance to brag a little bit about my Mustang.

Ford claims a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds but C&D managed to eek out a 3.7 and a 12.7 quarter mile at 101. I'm not a track guy so I don't have any proof for these numbers but I can tell you the difference in acceleration between my Maverick and Mustang is definitely noticeable.:D

Hybrid Maverick is fast???? I must have gotten a lemon. It gave me the feeling of the slowest car that I have ever owned. I think it is as slow as a Nissan Sentra 1.8s. EB has decent power which is much more than a hybrid.
It doesn’t feel fast because the acceleration isn’t very dramatic.

The hybrid can move!! My kids giggle when they see me put it in sport mode. My son calls it race car mode! She is quick even when needing to pass on the highway. I have had jeep Cherokee xjs, highly modded mustang GTs (01 and 07) and my last vehicle was a Kia Sorento V6 with around 270hp. My hybrid Maverick feels quicker than the Kia I traded in and I have never once thought it was slow.. Its fun to drive!
