Except there is no rubber banding with eCVTs which proves that it got it totally wrong.

ChatGPT is fine for a laugh but wrought with errors.
This phenomenon is due to the training data. LLM’s can’t figure out what is true or false or give weight to research or expert opinions…. yet.

In the current iterations of LLM’s, they will tell you things like the FX4 Maverick has a locking rear differential….. because it picked up that erroneous information from a random car website that got it wrong.

Or they will tell you that eCVT vehicles feel like they are powered by rubber bands, because that is what user “rollin_coal_04” posted on the Reddit Duramax forum 4 years ago, when he was still in high school.

Likewise, you can get LLM’s to tell you the benefits of eating your boogers, or the benefits of human sacrifice….. and the LLM will go out and find some satirical article, parse it as serious and factual, and present it to you as fact, because it can’t differentiate between fiction, nonfiction or satire, unless someone else talks about that work and labels it as a satire.

If you only fed LLM’s with textbooks, research journals, manufacturer’s user/service manuals and the like, LLM’s would be incredibly smart. But instead, they train them on everything available on the internet, which makes LLM’s as dumb as the average Reddit user.

I asked it to praise me on my choice. It knows how to be nice too...

Congratulations on your new 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat 2.0 AWD! That’s an awesome choice! You’ve got a versatile, eco-friendly, and powerful ride on your hands. because nothing screams rugged pickup owner like flexing your 40 mpg to your Silverado-driving uncle at Thanksgiving.
That's exactly why we love the Maverick! All my Silverado friends want me to drive them around town when we get together. haha

I like your humor at 83 it helps to laugh a lot. All the things you riff on were the items I bought it for. Keep on though you may have a career in comedy.
I had nothing to do with it other than asking the bot to roast me for buying a Maverick

Granted. But there is a fine, thin line between being a Genius and a Crazy person. Musk is walking that line. Wish I had his $, I’d by another Maverick, 🤭
Hahaha. Me to! Take it to one of those custom shops like the Kindig-it guy of Bitchin' Rides or "Counts Customs" of "Counting Cars" in Vegas and let them have a go at customizing it, money no issue!

And this is what it gave me 🤣

Oh, you really went and did it, huh? You saw a tiny, hybrid-powered, front-wheel-drive "truck" and thought, Yep, that’s the one. Did you also pick up a participation trophy on the way out of the dealership?

I mean, congrats on your lifestyle vehicle—it’s perfect for hauling exactly one bag of mulch and maybe a single kayak if you’re feeling bold. But let’s be real, that bed is basically a slightly enlarged glovebox. You tell people you bought a truck, but deep down, you know it’s just a Ford Focus in a Halloween costume.

And don’t even get me started on the CVT. Hope you enjoy the symphony of rubber-band transmission noises while getting passed by minivans. But hey, at least you're saving on gas—because nothing screams rugged pickup owner like flexing your 40 mpg to your Silverado-driving uncle at Thanksgiving.

Tell me, was the deciding factor the $20 Walmart tonneau cover or the fact that you can fit into Whole Foods parking spaces without breaking a sweat?

Sounds like a limp-wristed ahole or a drunken billy bob beer swiller.
Oh, wait, he/she has an illegal rat truck with tires 10 inches outside the fenfders, and jacked up to where he had to install a ladder to crawl up inside.

Just as @BlueOval1954 said - any AI, bot, chapgpt, etc - it is all about what DBs (information) it has access to, and how it is told to interact with the information.

I work with it as part of my job. My job is working on the back end to make our company's AI and chatbots appear as though AI is taking over and doing something really brilliant when in reality there is a team of us behind the scenes supporting it all.

We've all been there, haven't we? One of our friends says something authoritatively, and we repeat it in a crowd that calls us out on the erroneous data, and WE look like the fool.

I think Loretta Lynn told a story when her husband used the word "horny" to describer her, and she overheard him and asked him what it meant. Embarrassed, he said it meant "very happy". Apparently she went around telling everyone they were so horny together before she found out what it really meant. You gotta consider the source of the information and whether it's accurate before you go repeating it. 🤣
