It is fair for the OP to fully evaluate the reported problems. I was a "trouble-free" hybrid owner for the first nine months and 22,000 miles. I chose the hybrid to "test the waters" of electric vehicle ownership and I too, thought that Ford had the hybrid thing down and that it would be reliable.
Trying for six months to get my no-crank/no-start issue resolved (went to two dealerships) was frustrating, but getting the interior trashed with the airbag recall, followed by non-functioning seatbelts after that repair, sealed the deal on ownership experience with the vehicle.

My experience is not "overblown", rather a frustrating realization that I could not trust the vehicle long-term. If you can't get the issues resolved during the bumper-to-bumper warranty period, why would one keep it?

The Maverick Hybrid rocks. You are going to love it. I have two, both have been flawless. So smooth and quiet.

I think maybe Mary Barra writes many of the negative Hybrid posts to distract from the Bolt/Volt.

Mary, and trolls...plenty of them just stirring things around making nothing burgers. America is great, but our freedoms can easily be abused since our system depends on folks making choices to promote goodness. When the dark side dominates, the system struggles.

End of rant.

I have had my 22 XLT for 6200 miles. I work from home and don't drive too much and have had it sitting in garage for two weeks without being driven and have never gotten the deep sleep message. I had the grabby brakes, dealer did the TSB during my first oil change and that improved it a bit to the point I don't even think about it any more.

I have a 23 Lariat scheduled for September and my brother ordered a 23 XLT due to arrive in two weeks.

I could not be happier. Very versatile vehicle.

Relax and enjoy your truck. Many people will be happy to take it off your hands if you change your mind.

Almost 50k miles since October. No complaints, or issues. My airbag and other recalls completed without a problem.

I am waiting on my truck and wondering just how much we are ignoring about what seems to be several problems with a NEW truck. Some are installing new batteries to fix a deep sleep problem that dealers get off the hook for under warranty? Grabby brakes are still a problem, shifting problems from ICE to electric? I can't imagine getting a brand new vehicle and expect to be taking it to the dealer and them telling you they can't duplicate your problem and send you on your way? The Deep Sleep and low voltage and not starting are quite concerning along with grabby brakes. Does anyone know how prevalent these problems really are? If this hybrid stuff has been around for sooo long, why all the problems?
Maybe a hybrid Mav is not the vehicle for you!! Good luck.

Of course you read about problems in this forum. The same is true in any vehicle forum you go to. It's what people do.

If you don't want your Hybrid, don't take delivery. If you do take delivery and don't like it, sell it. Even if it's a '24 and has the '24 higher price, you'll very likely be able to sell it and not lose any money doing so.

This is vehicle number 50ish for me. It has plenty of issues that a decade ago would have landed back at the dealership. Mostly being the deep sleep mode and all the rattles. As many others have said, it is brand new and we don’t expect any issues with a new vehicle - whether it cost 20k or a 100k.

My local dealer admits there are issues with my Maverick, but says they can’t get the parts to fix it.

We owners also tend to put up with things we never would have in the past as we’ve been conditioned to believe “supply chain problems” - maybe so, maybe not.

But, for $20k. Not a bad deal. I sold my 2011 Ranger XLT EXT cab for not much less and it had zero warranty.

I have a 2023 mav hybrid (delivered 1/31/23 (5000 miles)and a 2015 cmax- energy (99600) have never had any problems with either of them. I previously owned 2 2012 fusion hybrids and a escape hybrid 2007. A bearing went in the cmax transaxle at 70,000 miles and was covered under warranty, otherwise never a problem with any of them…. So I think they have all run pretty well throughout the years no complaints.

The grabby brakes are a regular issue with my Maverick. I just expect it at this point. The hybrid shudder issue I've only experienced once or twice

8500 trouble free miles on my Sons Hybrid delivered in Early March 2023. Nothing but an oil change....zero complaints from him.

2+ months, on my 3rd tank of gas. Around 1500 miles, no issues whatsoever related to powertrain.

Hybrids have been around for decades. This is a new model vehicle and there have been quality control issues with some of the parts. The hybrid drivetrain technology itself is rock solid.
You know, except for the massive recall on the 2.5L hybrid system shared across the Escape 20-23 and Maverick 22-23... I'm not saying other manufacturers don't run into hiccups, but to call it "rock solid" is just inviting trouble.

Three months in, no issues thus far, and averaging 51 mpg, including a highway road-trip/getaway of 170 or so miles.

I did crack the tip off the driver side market light with the trim removal tool, when replacing the stock incandescent with an LED. Had my brother order me a replacement at work, and installed it last weekend. - That's on me, and most people wouldn't have bothered, it was only a tiny portion of the corner tip, but I knew it was there, on a brand new truck.

Before you ask, you cannot access the driver side market light from behind on the Hybrid, as the noise maker sits up against it, and hence I had to pry that one out.

For the record, my brother, the A-Tech at the dealership, even this past Saturday, indicated "Good, you got the Hybrid, way fewer problems long term". He rebuilds transmissions all day long for a living, very rarely sees a Hybrid eCVT come in with problems.

Sounds like buyer's remorse to me.

Sounds like you have a case of buyer's remorse. Just cancel the order if you have doubts.
