Finally received the truck on July 31, 2023. The ex bought it, and here is her issues. Any insight as to what might be the issue?

On 9/14 I got a message my truck was in deep sleep I needed to take it on a longer drive. So I did. On 9/15 I did not drive it. On 9/16 8:00 am went to go out and my truck was dead. I got a jump start that afternoon and took it for a drive. On 9/17 I took it for a ride around 11-12. On 9/18 I got a message at 11:45 pm not even 12 hours after I drove it. So I drove it. Then I took it to ford on 9/18. My truck was done at ford on 9/20 and at 3:30 am on 9/21 I got message it was going into sleep mode and I took it back to ford . It is just sitting in a parking lot now.

Update: still not fixed, no idea what is wrong, and supposedly Ford claims there is only one other in the United States with the same problem and they have no idea…

Hello there, I would like to take a closer look at your Maverick's deep sleep issues. To get started, could you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer?

I have the same issue with my truck. My battery drain test shows .01 -.02 ah draw at rest, which is well within spec yet I regularly get deep sleep notifications and had to jump the vehicle twice in one week. Is there something you can check with my VIN?

Since they can not find the issue, and there is no resolution, and the service tech said to just do not shut it off, she decided to get rid of it. And in a way, I don’t blame her. I ordered myself a 2024, but am highly considering not taking it when/if it ever arrives. I have own a lot of Fords over the years, and will be hard to turn it down, but the old advertising of FORD BUILT TOUGH, is just not there anymore. So I will probably just keep my Kia suv and keep on enjoying my 38mpg.

I'll say it's definitely not just you. I've seen a ton of posts about this on here, and haven't seen a whole lot of solutions. I posted about mine doing it back in April. No deep sleep messages for ~5 months, then deep sleep messages for two weeks, followed by not starting at all.

Dealer replaced my battery under warranty, it passed their tester multiple times before failing the last run, and even then it was sketchy. The parasitic draw tests for the truck came back at .015 amps, nothing abnormal.

I had been fine with the new battery for another 5 months, now I'm back to daily deep sleep messages. And I expect to wake up to a dead truck one of these days. Bought a battery maintainer to keep me going, but that is a band-aid. I have an appointment scheduled to get my 300A fuse checked, see if that's the problem.

On the day below I drove to work, sat for 12 hours, no deep sleep. Drove home, deep sleep in 24 minutes.

Could be that the truck isn't charging the battery (Bad 300A fuse, DC/DC converter, BCM). Could also be a defect with these batteries (maintainer reported going from 25% SOC to 90% SOC suspiciously quick, your dealer's notes about voltage drops is interesting). For me, it could be that two short 10 minute trips daily is keeping it in a low SOC, damaging the 12V battery over time.

I know a user installed the battery on the left and it fixed his issue. I'd really be curious if the one on the right would fit. AGM, same base size, 9/16'' taller than stock. Not ready to take a gamble on either of these yet though, it'd suck to sink $250 into a battery and have it not fix the issue. Or just not fit. Have to be sure the truck itself is sound first.

Plan for me is to try get my fuse replaced, see if it changes things. Or maybe they find something different while checking it out, third time's the charm? Otherwise, I'll see about a different brand of battery, try to rule out if the Motorcraft ones are just crap.

I had the same problem and it was a dealer added alarm system causing a draw. It took the dealer 3 days to find the problem.

I have the same problem, I have to put mine on a battery tender one night a week to keep it from happening, which is absolute bullshit. FORD FIX THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME I GET STRANDED, I'M DONE WITH YOU. I have two friends with Ford Fusion hybrids that never have these issues, there has to be a root cause that you need to find. It's sad to have a new vehicle and be stressed about hoping the thing starts. And, yes, I do have a portable battery pack starter, but I shouldn't have to rely on that with a NEW vehicle.
