  1. Tremor wheels -- anyone paint the wheels black and leave the orange pocket?

Ask and ye shall receive: Fairly easy edit to make, I'm just drawing a path around the wheel, orange section, and center cap in GIMP. Then I subtract the second two paths from the first and drop brightness/contrast until it looks right.
  2. Are many hybrid owners still getting the grabby brakes? '22 Maverick Hybrid

Had all the updates done, around 2K miles with them on. Only times I feel any braking weirdness is in the rain. Makes the transition from regenerative to standard a little more abrupt. Otherwise, basically perfect, miles better than the original software. 2022 MY, 9/21/22 build date.
  3. Are Reports of Hybrid Issues After Recall Software Update Slowing?

~250 miles since I did everything at the start of May. PCM, BCM, IPC, taillight, everything. I am completely caught up on recalls now, including the most recent fire one. No weirdness to report. So far, so good.
  4. Recall 23S27 UNDERHOOD FIRE PCM UPDATE

Huh... it really is available. Holy shit. Will report back if it does weird things. Felt fine in the ~10 minute drive home.
  5. Where to Hardwire a Battery Tender on '24 Hybrid

I'll try my hand at a write up, I keep mine under the rear seat. I've been running on this setup since December, no fires, no BMS resets, no errors found in FORScan after charging with it. It's fairly clean and the truck doesn't seem to mind it being there. 1. I bought a NOCO Genius 5 smallest...
  6. Dead battery in cold weather, deep sleep, and dome light issues

I'm following this video, the tech connects the negative lead to a body ground, and the other to the positive battery terminal. You have to use the body ground instead of the negative battery post because otherwise the truck won't see it and will kick out a battery state fault. It's confused why...
  7. Dead battery in cold weather, deep sleep, and dome light issues

H4 size AGM batteries fit, a few of us have been running them. BlueSpec has the AC Delco AGM in his. Can't speak for anyone else, but all good with my DieHard. Certainly not hurting things, but I couldn't say if I could have achieved a similar result by just paying mind to my charge levels with...
  8. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

Yes, the desktop app supports this, mobile is viewing only. You can modify it through "BdyCM Module Configuration" in the programming and configuration tab, or the "As Built" data. The tabs are more user-friendly and have drop down menus, the as-built tab is harder to follow. Definitely, the...
  9. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

The truck kicks out an error if you don't let it sit for 6-8 hours post BMS reset. Bat_State_Det_Type has an "Out of Range" fault. It attempts to learn the SOC when you tell it to via FORscan, when you pump the brake pedal and flash the brights, and it'll do it just by allowing it to sit. I've...
  10. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

A Ford dealer is going to put the same recommended Motorcraft battery in every time it's changed. It wouldn't need to have its type updated, it'd just need to relearn how much charge is in that newly installed battery. And so that's all it does. Probably puts a small load on it over the 8 hour...
  11. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

What's your source on this? Battery type is defined at address 726-02-01 in the BdyCM. By default on hybrid it's 0707. Type 07, corresponds to a 45AH battery. By changing these digits, I've been able to access battery types not listed in FORScan. I'll make a chart at some point. I've changed it...
  12. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

Yep, that was step 1 in troubleshooting this issue. I've been at this for a while now. I've used three methods, FORScan, Pedal-Pump and leaving it locked without touching it for 12 hours at various points. And yes, BMS was reset after upgrading the battery. Resetting the BMS doesn't change any...
  13. Ford Battery Monitoring System (BMS) Explanation

The following is a screenshot of my BdyCM settings prior to me messing with anything. They have the battery type set to AGM from the factory, despite giving us flooded batteries. It has been speculated that this may be a cause for the short lifespan of the stock batteries. BMS doesn't manage...
  14. Dead hybrid after work today

This is what I followed, they had a direct connection to the positive post and a ground behind the BMS sensor, and his tracked SOC while charging correctly. I'm on a frame ground in the battery compartment. The BMS will report an error if the charger is connected wrong, it won't have seen...
  15. Dead hybrid after work today

This is my setup, Diehard H4-XEV battery, fits with no issues. The batteries out of the 2014+ Chevy Bolt are a perfect fit, right down to the vent tube location. The LN1 AGM battery from AC Delco also fits. Have not caught fire yet, but will post pictures if I do. Some hybrids have been...
  16. Dead hybrid after work today

My current understanding of the issue, is there are two factors at play here. Poor quality factory batteries, and a weak charging system. The poor quality factory batteries do not take kindly to being drawn down. Doing so causes the plates to sulfate, increasing the internal resistance of the...
  17. Anyone Found a Reusable bottle that fits?

If your bottle of choice doesn't fit, make it fit! 40 oz water bottle holder! Fair warning, this scratches the hell out of the back of the console. Don't do it.
  18. Replacing 12v battery

I don't know what kind of process they follow over there for diagnosing or following up on customer complaints, but it's pretty clear there is zero follow through. For as many of us who have this issue, you'd think someone would have found a dealer/engineer who cared enough to find the root...
