The aurora borealis caused my battery to almost fully charge, well sort of. The wife and I went hunting for a darker spot out side of the city to view the northern lights. Probably the longest amount of driving in a short time i have done since picking it up. I have only had one additional deep sleep warning since stating the monitoring.

Parked the truck in the driveway just after midnight. Looked at the SoC as I was walking into the house and thought finally… then this happened.

this is the 5 day graph.

The blue circle below is going and coming back from a park to walk the dog. No voltage gain at all. The first dip to the voltage in the red circle is when I tossed the keys onto the passenger seat to wash it. The second dip is when I was opening doors (dome light off) to wash the door frame and panels. Barely over 12V now after a good drive last night? I just don’t get it?

Been keeping an eye on SOC over the past month or so. It used to be that I could drive it for hours and it would only register 80% SOC.

Yesterday, I happened to get three updates/recalls done:
24S27 - BCM Software Update (tail lamps)
24C01 - IPC Software Update (instrument cluster backlight)
23P18 - PCM Reprogramming (DTC P2282 - Air Leak)

Today, I drove it another 2h highway, then tested SOC: 90%. Hmmmm. I've never seen more than 80% unless I charged it myself. Makes me wonder if one of yesterday's updates now allows 90%.

It's a different animal than we are used to for sure.

I see a similar pattern but I don't have the graphing software. Just keeping notes mine goes 60% - 50% - 60% - 50% with 11 mile commutes.

I have a ScanGaugeIII which shows data in real time but does not log the data.

The perplexing thing is: I've watched it do this for a year now. It's not getting measurably worse. But I drive it 6 days a week. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This morning after about 45 minutes of driving (purposely took the long way to a park), and I am about 10 minutes into a walk when I assume my Maverick decided it needed to stir the fuel tank or something but found it did not have sufficient reserve power so it sent an SOS to Ford Pass and went into deep sleep.

yes it also went into deep sleep yesterday when it hit 13% SoC and bottomed out I hope!

Do you have your keyfob blocked in a Faraday cage or pouch, or a tin cakebox overnight? I've been checking on all the clicking that the hybrid does, and am convinced that a number of fairly power-hungry systems are kept operating because the vehicle can communicate with the key and is anticipating that you are close enough that you will be getting in and starting it soon. I started putting it in a tin box to defeat driveway key cloning thefts, but it has a pretty obvious effect on the clicking from the vehicle.
Ford put a new battery into my Maverick and I bought a Faraday pouch and put my key fob into it everyday when I'm not driving it. I still get deep sleep mode after so much time. If I drive my Maverick for longer periods of time, then it's ok, but the short trips around town, being retired, just won't keep it from going into deep sleep mode.

How is this even possible. The Ford Pass app notified me my truck is back in deep sleep so I walked into the garage and updated the battery monitoring data in my MB app and find that the battery is at 68% SoC and 12.41 Volts yet the truck needs to go into deep sleep? Something is not right! This has to be an app issue!

If the fob lock button or the door pad' bottom two lock bottoms are pushed twice it appears to me that clicking when approaching truck with fob doesn't happen until hand is placed behind pull to open handle. No proof, of course, but I usually double Lock.

What is the logic behind changing charge level to 95%? I'm just wondering if I should do it? I sold my OEM battery and installed an H5 AGM which has all kinds of extra capacity vs OEM. Ideally don't you want to charge to 80% for battery longevity? I know that's what Apple tells me with their batteries, but I also know it's a different type of battery.
I assume, don't actually know that 80% is the SOC at which absorption charge drops to float charge (80% being where an AGM normally is switched and a flooded lead acid is usually 90-95% depending on its specs. The battery type disclosed by forscan is at least on some as AGM.). AGM batteries are much more sensitive to being overcharged than are flooded batteries. That is the reasoning for 80% limit for the absorption charge.

You may see 12.41 at battery and the truck may be pulling current for something and voltage downstream of that draw could be where the deep sleep reading is being taken. Maybe take a second reading at jump posts and see what it is there.

I have been saving the logs from my battery monitor and have built a excel tool that lets me graph any time frame. Below is the last 2 days. I drove to and from work twice and then after dinner yesterday I made a quick run to the gas station to get gas for our mower. The battery gained more charge (both in voltage and SoC) in the two very short back to back trips then it does on a 15-20 minute commute to work and back?

My Ford App is still useless as my truck is still in deep sleep, but I still have not had to jump it with my booster pack so I guess its doing what it is designed to do by going into deep sleep.

I agree. It is annoying as hell. Pulling fuse 11 shuts off this wonderful feature that we all love and enjoy so much.
