I had an issue 1-2 months ago. Before I got the software update. Something in my hybrid made a loud bang and grind sound. Loud enough that people in the parking lot turned around and looked. Since then, my electric to gas transition is no longer smooth. It turns over a bit hard and its a noticeable transition. Before this event, tge transition was smooth. Barely and sometimes not noticeable at all. My question for other hybrid drivers, are you noticing the transition from electric to gas? I could be a little over concern due to the vent I encountered.
Mine is clunky when coming to a stop when transitioning from gas to electric. Doesn't always do it but does it periodically throughout the day. And usually always does it the first couple stops for first drive in the morning.

I notice it slightly more than I originally did (maybe I'm becoming a bit more attuned to it). Also if the battery to ICE transition occurs during a somewhat abrupt level/downhill transition to uphill at highway speeds in cruise control it's more noticeable. ICE to electric is barely noticeable.

Most of my driving in the Maverick is to and from work, 30 miles each way between my home in Stewartstown, PA and Timonium, MD. Home to work I can usually make 50 - 54 MPG, work to home around 44 - 46 MPG with CC activated at 65 mph give or take. There are a few spots on my way into work where I can "tease" it into electric by tapping the brake pedal quicky and toggling the "Set" switch immediately. Sometimes keeping same speed, sometimes dropping 1 mph.

The thing my wife finds annoying is the regenerative drag when in ECO mode going downhill.

2024 Hybrid, I can't tell when it transitions; only the dash gauge lets me know

I would say I got a problem then. The loud bang and grinding situation must have damaged my car. Especially considering i only have 17,000 miles and you can def feel the transition.
Barely noticeable like the rest, mostly engine starting and running, and usually only when stereo is off or at low volume. Nothing even close to what I would call a bang or grinding. Me thinks something is wrong.

I have a 2024 hybrid with 3600 miles. I have had the grinding sound a couple of times. Once when I had to get on the brakes very aggressively and the second time when making a very tight turn. But the transition from gas to electric is not noticeable. There are times when I think it should be running on the battery, but won’t switch over until I give it a little throttle and let off, then it will go to the battery.

Let us know what comes of the visit

I am over 46k miles on mine (75k kms just about) and I have not noticed a bad transition, sometimes it is noticeable but almost always it just slips into electric

Haven’t checked out as soon as possible so you don’t damage something further.

Super smooth, you hear the ICE start, with the exhaust note, otherwise wouldn't know it's running. - My wife doesn't really notice the exhaust note 9 times out of 10.

I'm at 27000 miles on a 23. At first the hangover was imperceptible, but over time there is a little more of a bump.

Just add in enough throttle to decrease your braking to desired. Many people have also found that slippery mode is more fuel efficient and decreases this regenerative drag.

I am on my second Hybrid and in both of them I would not know if it is in gas or electric without looking at the power meter or the dash saying electric or showing MPG. The transition is very smooth and not noticeable to me. I love it.
