I am currently driving a 2007 Taurus SE with over 257K miles. I bought it used in 2011 with about 87K miles for about $7500 IIRC. It has been a decent, but not great car. Certainly a good value. Over the years I have replaced an alternator, starter, fuel pump, fuel filter, brake lines plus the more routine maintenance items like brake pads and rotors. It is still reliable (no engine or transmission issues), but is showing its age. It has had an EGR related CEL for years that doesn't seem to affect it. No emissions testing here, so I am just ignoring it. The handling is getting worse as it feels like the front end is soft and it wants to drift. It certainly has rust on all the wheel wells. The clearcoat is peeling in places as well. The leadlight assemblies are very cloudy and ought to be polished or replaced. It has unrepaired deer collision damage since I no longer carry comp or collision insurance on it. And just recently the AC clutch went out on it. I was able to bypass the AC pulley by using a shorter belt for $25 and some bruised and dirty hands. I will be sweating until my Maverick is delivered. I am not spending any more money on this car if I can helped it. Maybe one more oil change. Tires should last through this fall, but I would want to replace them if I kept it longer than that. The best thing about it is it starts every time and has been paid off for about 9 years. I had originally been hoping to keep this car for another 15 months until my mortgage is paid off, plus I didn't really know what I wanted to replace it with. COVID screwing up the marketplace made me want to keep it even more. But I decided last year I needed a contingency plan and ordered a Maverick (well 2 actually). I will be driving something else by the end of the year even if neither of my Mavericks get built.

I am sure others are waiting to replace something even worse. How rough is your current ride that you will be replacing with a Maverick??

1998 GMC Yukon with 190k. Still runs like a champ and easy to maintain. Dash is all cracked, needs a paint job, and new tires. Hoping I can stretch the tire purchase, but at this point I will buy some cheap ones.

My current Daily driver is a 99 E150 van with 92K miles on it. It has started rusting over the last couple years. I bought that so my Mustang can be a garage queen. Not selling it, but keeping it as a spare vehicle.

It was a creampuff.
Sadly, the Subaru engineered tranny was a load of dung.

2006 Honda Civic Hybrid with 250,000 miles on it. Shocks are shot, the paint is bad, and the air conditioner went out last your and cost more to fix than the car is worth. I am trying to wait it out until I get my Maverick. It's been a great little commuter, but the Mav will be a nice upgrade for me.

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 v6 that I'm the second owner ,two years ago the five speed overdrive automatic trans went out and I spent $3200.00 to have it completely rebuilt and it went out again in April of this year and I did not want to sink anymore money into a twenty-five year old truck so I bought a 2022 Maverick XLT 2.0 ecoboost to replace the Ranger.

2012 Focus with 200K miles with CEL because the gas gauge sending unit isn't sending. I use the tripometer to gas up at 350 miles.

Sun has burned the paint off the top of the side rear view mirrors. All other paint is good.

Headlights are pretty yellow, almost brown.

A/C is intermittent so it quits at red lights.

Rear bumper only stays on because the mud flap holds up the loose part after getting rear ended at a red light.

Tires have 50K on them. Not dangerous but needing replacement soon.

Will need registration renewed soon. Not gonna happen.

All good, Mav is built and modules popped! Waiting for shipment.

Well , it's a 1991 S-10 pick up with 296K on it - runs good but that's about all I can say for it . The head gasket blew about2 days before the dealer called me with great news - got my Maverick - will post photos as soon as I can .

SAME. 06 Civic, 220Kish. Got some shaking over 80MPH. My AC is limping. If I drive for more than 30 minutes and it's over 95F, it stops blowing cold. Just gotta make it another 2-3 weeks probably til temps don't get that high, and hope nothing major breaks before the truck shows up. 🤞

My 2013 Kia optima sxl has 175k miles, kind of rough shape but the worst part is the brake pads I guess broke off recently so I'm stopping grinding into the rotors.. I'm not going to put 800 bucks into a car I'll only get 1k for

2000 Honda Accord - 292k miles. The body and interior are still in pretty good shape and the AC still works. I did have to have the transmission repaired and starter replaced over the years. Other than that, just routine maintenance. It has started to use some oil - maybe a quart every 700 miles or so, and the CEL is on (catalytic converter not operating at full efficiency). Since cars > 20 years old don't go through an emissions test in NC, I can keep it going for another year until I get my Maverick (assuming I keep oil in it).

Got my Mav so sitting on a 2023 Ford Maverick, with 1500 miles, idk how much longer she's gonna go lol.

Used to drive a '16 Honda Civic, just under 100k miles and '03 Chevy Trailblazer just under 200k

That is awful. Such a great truck other than the MPG those v6's got, but all things considered, by far one of my favorites. I owned an older Ranger (1st gen) I can't even remember what year it was but minimal work done to it until someone T-boned me (drunk driver). First truck and then my Grandma passes and I got her Ford Escort which was a surprisingly reliable little car.

Also, I just had to google it to remember what year it was and I typed "Ford Ranger" and the first results that came up:

Ford Maverick How rough is your current vehicle? Capture.PNG

:ROFLMAO: oh google... It truly is a love hate relationship.

On the subject though: It's been a while since I had a "beater" but I've had my fair share. I hope you all get your Mavericks and they help you into a more reliable form of transportation soon. It's a weight lifted off the shoulders for sure and I hope your ownership is trouble free!

Good luck!

2016 Subaru Impreza. 117k miles, everything works great and body/interior are in vg condition. Damn thing has more interior rattles though, than any Maverick ever thought about having. LOL
This week is supposedly my Maverick's "build" week, so I'm hoping to be driving it by the time my birthday rolls around in mid-October.

2013 Hyundai sonata with 150k miles on the body/transmission. The motor was replaced because of a recall right after I bought it for 1500$ lol. Needless to say the motor is fine but I'm not too confident in the rest of the car.
