I got mine and I added rhino lining and got a gator trio onneau…all together under $1400 and worth every penny in my opinion.

This is my first truck but my father has had one for most of my life, and he’s tried all the other options. Spray in is the way to go. I got quotes from linex and rhino and rhino was like $100 cheaper and a friend of mine recommended them.

my two cents

Mine arrives Monday now. I have watched the YouTube videos. I believe there is NO drilling. Only taking off bedrails AND removing the bolts already in the tailgate and then bolting everything back in to hold it in place. There WILL be cutting of the bedliner for the two panels at the rear of the bed. I think there is more than one Youtube video to watch.
@Ranch I got it today. No drilling at all. The tailgate is simple...you just need to remove the 8 bolts that hold the access plate (for the handle) and than lay the tailgate section on top. Then add 8 spacers in the 8 holes provided already in the plastic tailgate piece. Then put the original screws back in. The spacers keep you from crushing the tailgate plastic. YOU NEED TO SCREW IN ORDER...like a head...needs tightened from center out.

I did that part first. Then you have to unbolt all the tie-downs with Torx fittings and clean up before the rest.

Then you just drill holes in the plastic (marked) to provide for mounting your hardware (tiedowns and Bedrails in my case). Then the hard part to me...cutting marked squares out for the plastic panels at the rear of the bed (storage on one side, and LED and inverter plug on the other side).

Everything then pretty much fits into place and will be completely held in place when you return the bolts for the tiedowns to their original positions. There is a small strip of tape that is at the front of the bed...on a floating channel atop the front piece.

No bolts, no drilling into anything except preparing the plastic.

I agree. I plan on getting a bed mat because it will keep things from sliding around and prevent dents and scratches on the bed floor at a reasonable price.
If you are not doing any crazy loading, throw in a bed mat and call it a day amigo
I ordered a rubber bed mat for my Maverick. Only $140 from Ford and it will protect the bottom of the bed.
I used my points to order a bed mat and just the tailgate section of dropin liner. Surprised how thick the plastic liner is.

The sides are paint. Bottom of bed and tailgate are protected and isn't slick like paint.

I mainly wanted to protect the sliding surfaces until I decide whether to spray later. Plus the mat gives you a slight cushioned surface to work on.

Nice idea to protect your tailgate. I may do the same thing. I didn't know that Ford sells the tailgate protector separately. I do like the Ford bed mat. Looks good and has cutouts for the front lower D-ring tie downs.

So $75 for the tailgate liner and $150 for the bed mat. Not bad.

My work truck is a 1991 jeep comanche. Never had a bedliner though it looks like its had some thick farm type paint sprayed on it a time or two. Nothing about it is rusted but every bit of it is scrapped and dented. Nothing pretty but tools, the bottoms of trash cans, coconuts, and gravel dont care how it looks.

I had a 92 Ranger that got its bed dented and scratched over the years. No rust. A friend gave me a thick rubber mat that I liked because it kept things from sliding around while driving.

Nothing more irritating than things slamming against the cab and tailgate while driving.

Yea I always planned on getting the mat to protect things I put in bed from getting scratches and sliding around. But when I dropped spray in bed liner, I was trying to figure out how to protect the tailgate when you slide things out.

I was looking at the Ford bed options and came across what you show. I thought you had to buy entire dropin liner to get tailgate portion.

The tailgate liner is great quality and well worth it to me.

I've never had a truck with a spray in bed liner. Does it reduce things sliding around much?

Looks like things would still move around almost as much as a non covered painted bed. That would mean also purchasing a bed mat if you don't want things banging around in the bed.

Spray in or a grippy rubber mat will definitely help keep things in place, but using a truck for 'truck things' sometimes requires driving a little differently. Brake early and often, accelerate reasonably, take turns slowly and your cargo will appreciate it regardless of liners. Also consider using straps or load bars to keep things stationary.

I bought mine from Fairway Ford in Ohio as recommended by other forum members. They used my Ford Pass Points for purchase. You just have to take into account shipping charges to see if they're the best deal.

My tailgate liner bag was torn open a bit during shipment, luckily the fastener packet didn't fall out.

Tailgate liner $59 instead of $75

Bed Mat $120 vs $150

I was thinking about using my points to buy the bed mat but I think I'll use them for oil changes. I still get employee pricing at the dealership I used to work at so I'll probably buy them outright.

You did get a good deal. There's not a big markup on Ford accessories.

I remember salesmen bringing their customers to the parts counter and telling the counterman to sell them floor mats, dash covers and windshield heat screens for cost. That never happened. My boss didn't allow anyone to sell stuff at cost.

I have most things tied here or there with paracord.

I have owned trucks for 20 years a spray in bed liner is fantastic it'll keep your bed free of rust and even small dents. It will also help to keep your payload in place. A drop in works but things move around more and the liner itself moves. At a minimum I would recommend some type of mat. Truck beds can become really slippery because of all the things that end up in there. Stepping into a slippery truck bed will lnock some sense in you!

Joe Schmo,
Please post a photo of the Tractor supply mat in your truck. I have an interest in that when my truck arrives. Is it heavy enough to sit in there by it's self or did you have to secure it to the bed floor? thank you.
Not Joe Schmo, but I have the Tractor Supply mat. The piece on the tailgate is not attached, I just throw it in the back if I intend to haul anything with the tailgate opened. The mat is very thick and soft and I need that for my 68 year old knees.
It is heavy enough that I didn't feel the need to secure it down, especially since I have a tonneau cover. I used a jigsaw to cut it and even that took me the better part of a day. Also, it is a two-man job getting it into the bed(it is very heavy).

Looks good Garry. I see you added some cool DIY eye bolts for added tie down locations.

I really enjoy seeing how people make their Mavericks their own personal truck with these affordable and easy mods.
