How much weight can a hitch hold?

If it holds 400lbs dynamic in the form of a trailer, 800lbs should be a safe limit for static weight.

Stack some pillows under it and test it out!

I would think it could hold 2 people easily. Those carriage racks for the hitch are rated for 500 lbs and that sticks out how far to put leverage on it.
