I ordered and then drove an XLT hybrid and think I might have ordered the wrong trim. I am ok with the seats in the XLT hybrid I ordered but didn't know about the poor infotainment and connectivity issues until it was too late. I probably should have ordered the Lariat or Lariat Tremor but it's too late to change. I'm going to look at it when it comes in but it's unlikely I will accept delivery and will wait until next year to order the correct vehicle for me.
After driving the hybrid, I did notice poor acceleration but that's probably because I am used to driving an EV with the quick acceleration. I wish the order window would have been longer but now I know what I'm dealing with before they open again next year.

I ordered one thru dealer 6/21 but cancelled 6/21 because of lack of call backs . then saw and actually sat (fit nice) in one at ( 9/21) Mullinax Apopka . could of bought that one (msrp 39k+) but it was loaded lariat ( wrong color) . called outlying dealers around orlando and found one that was dealer ordered and no deposit . Right options (price msrp )and color so put deposit on it over phone . test drove it just prior to purchasing and picked up on 10/31 . have enjoyed it since . added undercover armor tonneau and bugflector 2 in 03/22 . XLT , awd , ecoboost , 360 , fx4 , full spare , 2k hitch , and all weather floor mats .

I have the xllt lux and for me I'm OK with the info center. I use android auto and just wait 30 Seconds for the main screen to show then plug my phone in. Works every time. My wife has a explorer all the bells and whistles and I see very little difference between them. May be different if you have a apple. Two features my wife's car has that I would like are the ACC and the seat save positions, but I'm the only one that drives the Mav and 95%,of the time I drive rural and in town so the extra cost wasn't worth it to me. But as you said if its not what you want pass and get the one that makes you happy

That's good to know because I see reports of bluetooth and AA/Apple CarPlay drops and disconnects on the base system in the Maverick. My primary vehicle (EV) never has a single drop or disconnect but another vehicle we have does and it's exceedingly frustrating to have to pair it each time we enter the vehicle. Thanks!

I placed and order for my Hybrid without test driving it.

I have only drove a Prius 1 time, maybe for like 15 minutes.

So this is my first hybrid.

I love it!!!!

The title says all... how many of you? I ordered a Maverick without even test-drive it first. I did sit inside of a Maverick (hybrid) at the dealer's lot and ordered a Maverick with EcoBoost.
I ordered without seeing. 5 months later I saw and sat in one. 6 foot 2 and 280 I had plenty of room. 6 months later my test-drive/purchase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im 67 and it will be about our 40th car/truck and this will be the first time I never drove it and first time I pay MSRP. I did get to sit in 2- that ,on sunday when they were closed, someone left 2 open ( of course they were special orders and sold) they sit real nice, back and front much more interior room that I thought they would have. now if we can just get the damn thing built someday. we waited a year no maverick, so we are reorder 9/15 with conformation from ford ( again) well see...

I ordered mine without seeing one other than the pictures. It looked like it was going to be perfect for my needs so I pulled the trigger. 2 or 3 months later our dealer got a demo and I got to drive it. I ordered the hybrid but their demo was an ecoboost but that was ok. It moved like a scalded dog when I punched it. It was also very easy to get in and out of which was an accomplishment considering I'm 6'6" and 340 lbs. Mine is scheduled for November build and I find myself slowly getting that initial excitement creeping back as the build day nears. Hope you all get that same feeling. Its been long overdue.

I found a dealership in the Bay Area that was holding one for test drives (the only Bay Area dealership doing so!). 70 miles away, but I had to try it out because I'm 6'6" and most of that is long sexy legs! I was not disappointed - plenty of leg room. I was instantly sold! Bought an XL off a different dealer lot that the purchaser had declined. Had to pay above MSRP but still well worth it. I've ordered a '23 XL customized to my own tastes and I will soon sell the '22, provided I actually get the '23 I've ordered!

Well as I have a 2020 Escape hybrid Titanium isn't a Maverick Lariat hybrid a Escape hybrid in disguise 🥸. So does that count as a test drive.🤣

Ordered really sight unseen due to ability to use as a ‘truck’ and a decent sized car with 4 doors. Mileage and being hybrid is a huge plus. Have seen a few up close and a guy down the street has one and has had it for quite a while. Still awaiting my 10/11/2021 order to get built. Has been moved back several times so far. Was looking forward to driving before winter in New England but that’s not going to happen the way things are going. 4 days to go to 365 and still not built.
hybrid XLT with SIBL removed, rubber floor mats, tow hitch - nothing else extra somehow they can’t build it.

Actually...you can change your trim according to legend, but you will lose your place in line. According to the same legend, you can change everything EXCEPT for engine choice. And no, if you have a Hybrid, you cannot switch to a Tremor to get around the engine restriction. But, if you ordered an Ecoboost XLT, you can change to a Lariat Tremor, but again, you will lose your place in line. Changing colors or options will not affect your place in line (again, according to legend)

Bigbill27,
I researched over and over and more and more I fell in love. Ordered my xlt on 9/21. Sat in one 12/21 at my Ford dealership. I now have my VIN# , it's being shipped, on its way, I pick it up next wk 10/13/22. Can't wait, getting giddy again.

I was considering ordering one sight unseen, then I managed to drive by the dealership when someone's cactus Lariat has just been dropped off before the place opened. I did a walk around and figured it was enough for me to say yes.

if I could do my order over, I would have ordered two months earlier and simply got the 2.0 FWD XL and skipped all the other add-ons.

I had the opportunity to ride in a pre-production prototype about 2 years ago. (I have some connections). I didn't get to drive it, but from the ride it seemed solid, roomy, and punchy enough with the 2.0 Ecoboost.

I'm an old guy that was brought up on big V8's and RWD, and still love my MOPARS, but if I have to get with the times, this seemed like the best way to do it. The production models look good from what I've seen.

I missed the boat on ordering a '22, but my order is confirmed for a '23 XLT.
