How many have needed to tow a trailer.

Curious as to why Maverick owners love to tow but chose a Maverick over a mid size truck?

Let’s say love the “ability to tow.”
Just like all those cargo tie-downs.
I’ve used a small U-Haul trailer but now I just strap my KLX300 in the bed.

I regularly tow a utility trailers, on one occasion I towed a mini excavator. Didn't even know it was there. We'll, I knew it was there,but had no problem towing it.

Okay one prerequisite before purchasing. The reason I have 5 trailers. I would have liked a little bit more than 4k but I decided to make it work. Now a lot of threads either asking how to increase the towing from the standard 2k or trading in even to other vehicles with higher towing capabilities.

Also many posts on I don't tow or will never tow. So this got me thinking. I decided a poll if you tow or will never tow.

Keep in mind even a small trailer and under 2000lbs is still considered a yes for towing.

Moved one of my daughters 3 hours away to University, towed this fully loaded trailer very well however the fuel economy was almost cut in half

I've towed a trailer lots of times over the last 2 years - tables, chairs, bikes, household things, etc. My minivan could have towed the trailer each of those times. My main reason for buying the truck was the bed, which has been really nice to have as well.

I tow this rig 4-6 time/year. The heavy load shown here happens twice on a May weekend and tips up around 3200-3600 depending on the number of tables required for the event. Tows this load every bit as good as did my F150.

I bought my 24 XLT specifically to tow a 4x6 enclosed trailer. It weighs 1650lbs when loaded with Band equipment. Tow it most weekends once or twice, 50 to 150 miles one way. Only problem I have had is the trailer tow module, which has been fixed after the recall. Tows fine, handles fine, works well for me.

Been towing snowmobile trailers since the late 70's. At that time it was the little Subaru station wagon with a little flat 4. Started with open trailer, then clamshells up until I ordered my Mav. As soon as I got the confirmation that it was being build I upped the anti and purchased a 13' hybrid trailer. Had been towing with my 2020 Escape 2.0 turbo, but the max for that vehicle was 3500, but I really wanted a hybrid trailer. The one I decided on was about 400 lbs more than the trailer I was towing and would have been too close for comfort to the 3500 max of the Escape. The trailer, 2 4stroke turbo sleds and out gear I calculate to be just under 3500 lbs. I get around 28+ in the summer and 26+ in the winter... Towing is in the 13's., but some trucks don't get that towing (including my buddies new mid size GMC 4 cyc truck). Crusis nicely at 75 on the Maine Turnpike (I-95).

Personally I chose a Maverick because I can't afford a full size and if I'm spending the money on a truck I wanted new, not used. As far as towing goes, never have before the Maverick but was nice to be able to when my aunt was selling her garage. I ended up with a few free cabinets for my garage, couple tool boxes, a riding lawn mower with the bagging system, some other random things and a 14ft extension ladder. I rented a utility trailer from Uhaul and was able to get everything I wanted. Of course the Uhaul thing was a disaster as always wanted a 6x12 open trailer and because the power didn't work on it (which they should have known before offering it for rent) I ended up with an enclosed 5x8 trailer. Twice as many trips and I was couple hours late for the return but didn't get charged for the extra time. Also trailer was $5 cheaper nonetheless it was smooth in the Maverick towing the trailer. Very happy with how it went. No issues seeing around it. And learned how to back up a trailer too, although could use some practice still. Will I be towing a lot? Probably not, but nice to have the capability. Although now the girlfriend wants a small camper we'll see.

I’m considering this thing, pop up without the sliders, only 1299 lbs.

I wanted the 4k tow so I would be less likely to be stuck if needed. Plus I've used my Dad's utility trailer a few times and it's come in handy. This is over 1000 lbs in trees
