I'm curious how the Ecoboost owners are doing with gas mileage? Have you seen it improve over time as the engine broke in? I mainly use ECO mode and it has improved slightly since the truck was new

Currently I have 9,000 miles on my truck and around town I average 24 and last long trip I averaged just under 32 mpg. I'd love to get above 25 around town.

2024 XLT....25.5 overall. Recently did a long-ish trip (500 miles in 4 days...mostly highway) and averaged 29. I have the towing package. For those who don't know, the towing package models are geared different, so the MPG will be lower than non-towing models...

It is to bad the gearing is lower with the towing package. The transmission could peak out in 7th gear and only slip into 8th when towing with tail winds or down mild hills.

I can manage 35 highway in the Lobo if I'm driving reasonably on a nice sunny day. I've owned several hybrids - I don't miss having the hybrid this time when the economy is still stellar, but I've got some sportiness too

It's a larger final drive ratio that lowers all of the gears. It goes into 8th gear just fine when towing.

If the final drive were set up so that 7th gear equaled the currant 8 gear. It would have 1 more higher gear to slip into going down hill or strong tail wind

I have a 25 XLT FX4 Tow Package; upsized my tires to 245/65 R17s; also have a ladder rack and retractable tonneau cover. I'm mostly city driving at this point and am only getting like 18 mpg. Are the larger tiers, rack and cover all combining to kill my mileage that bad?
My 22 FX4 with 4ktow only got 18/20 for 3 years, My new Lobo 1500 miles is only getting 15mpg gets better on highways 20mpg, these numbers these guys are getting is unbelievable, has to be highway miles, I do 90% local maybe 10% highway, mostly stop and go stuff, hope it gets better after break in, still love the way it drives, it's going to take a year to get 4/5k.

Wow. my 22 FX4 4K has averaged right around 27 in town and 33 to 35 on the highway for the 70K I've had it (every fill up is documented in my log and I do the math). Made many trips between Upstate NY and the Daytona area of FL between our houses.
I did upgrade the tires to highway tread 235's and I'm kinda anal about maintaining the tires to 35psi.
No issues so far and at 70K it will be needing brakes soon. Other than that, just regular maintenance. In fact I think I'm replacing air filters today.

I decided to do a comparison of ECO mode and normal mode. So I did a little experiment on mine the last two fill ups. This was all driving around town and two lane highway no interstate at all. Very little AC use. Same gas and station. Temps and weather were basically the same and my routes were about the same.

First fill up I reset the screen, drive in ECO, and tried to drive as gently as I could. I ended up with 26.2 mph

Second fill up I reset the screen again, drove in normal mode, and just drove it in a regular manner, not worried about the mpg. This time I got 26.4

The truck drives so much better in normal mode so I guess I'll skip using eco from now on. I want to try this again after I change my air filter and oil next month I'm thinking I may get close to 27 on average with a clean air filter. Honestly I'm pretty happy with this mileage for a non hybrid!

My 22 FX4 is currently at 27.7 and just under 18K miles. It has been slowly going down since I haven’t done any highway driving recently. Mostly just trips to Lowe’s and back for home projects.

19 mpg but that's the price you pay for almost 400 HP.
