30 MPG overall for 36,000

Heres the Italian tune up MPG. 75mph average with full throttle to 100 a few times. Also my Maverick has the factory tremor suspension. So slightly higher in front. Fun.90% short 5 miles trips is brutally severe driving for an EB. Hopefully you have changed your oil 6 or so times in the 3 years of ownership?
Also, if the other 10% isn’t “Italian Tuneups” - start doing those and watch your mpg’s nudge upward!

Between 34-32 mpgI'm curious how the Ecoboost owners are doing with gas mileage? Have you seen it improve over time as the engine broke in? I mainly use ECO mode and it has improved slightly since the truck was new
Currently I have 9,000 miles on my truck and around town I average 24 and last long trip I averaged just under 32 mpg. I'd love to get above 25 around town.
Maybe the “Quick Shift 7 Speed” transmissions in our Lobos are not as fuel efficient as the regular 8 speed? Same EPA estimates though. The numbers you guys are very impressive my new Lobo 350 miles is barely getting 15mpg, had a 22 FX4 that only got 17/18 around town which most of my driving is done, I did much better on highways 30/35 mpg. My 25 Lariat hybrid only got 30/35 mpg, which was fine with me. I know the Lobo has to break in, am sure it will get better, I hope!
NO I know what your thinking, I drive like a old man because I am! rarely going over 40/50mph on local roads to the park with the dog or grocery store.
I will take 20mpg, lets see what happens after 1500/2000 miles, going to change the oil around their to get rid of the break-in oilMaybe the “Quick Shift 7 Speed” transmissions in our Lobos are not as fuel efficient as the regular 8 speed? Same EPA estimates though.
I also drive like an old man because I am one. Although I keep it in Sport and use the paddles. 20mpg now after 2,000 miles. Was lower during break in iirc.

The eCVT is another reason I chose the EB…
Because you wanted a less reliable powertrain?I 100% agree!
It is the same transmission. The 7 speed just disables 2nd gear, which is rarely used in the normal gasser models.Maybe the “Quick Shift 7 Speed” transmissions in our Lobos are not as fuel efficient as the regular 8 speed? Same EPA estimates though.

Yes, I knew the eCVT was more reliable than the automatic when I chose my Lobo. But hey, as I shift through the gears with my paddles (listening to the rpm’s rise & fall) - I am very happyBecause you wanted a less reliable powertrain?
What is the known design flaw?Because you wanted a less reliable powertrain?
The eCVT is a proven toyota level reliable part, while the 8f35 is an achilles heel with a known design flaw.
The eCVT has crappy bearings in the electric motors. Shame really - otherwise an engineering marvel. What is the known design flaw?
I guess they both have some issues, no knock to the MavBrid, but im leery of CVT transmissions with the luck I had with my Forester (2 replacements under warranty in 60K). I understand now its not the same animal, but in the moment it was a hard no for me.The eCVT has crappy bearings in the electric motors. Shame really - otherwise an engineering marvel.
