Foam cannon and pressure washer followed by turtlewax hybrid ceramic with a bottle in the car for touchups. For bugs I used to use the special sponges that had netting but ever since switching to ceramic sprays they come off with some spray and a cloth pretty easily- nothing really sticks to ceramic coatings that well.

...Use a battery powered (leaf) blower to get most of the rinse water off...
I use a rechargeable cordless leaf blower, too. But I take it with me to the manual spray car wash. My well water is too hard to wash cars with.

CeraKote ceramic coating will keep bugs from sticking too badly. The bugs are fairly easy to remove from the front of the truck by spot spraying with "Invisible Glass" spray cleaner and using a microfiber cloth. "Invisible Glass" cleaner is mild (safe for use on tinted window film). It doesn't seem to adversely affect the CeraKote paint & trim coatings at all.

To get oily films and bugs off WITHOUT ruining the finish or even the wax, I use a Simple Green wash. It helps soften oils and bugs. Then I use Meguiors Gold car wash with wax and polymers. That helps keep the next round of crud easier to remove.
Use Turtle Wax ice sprays to enhance that shine. Very easy and quick to use.

I guess this could apply to any car or truck, really. I love the way my Maverick looks and I want to do a better job keeping it clean and shiny. Especially the wheels since I bought aftermarket rims that look fantastic when clean.

My main problem is I do a LOT of freeway driving at speeds 80+ mph and I’m constantly getting bug splatter all over the front end. This stuff does NOT come off in drive-through washes. I’m considering buying a pre-soak bug spray and applying it to front end before every wash. And a wheel cleaner pre-soak spray as well.

My question is do you have to scrub these bug sprays and wheel sprays with brush after they pre-soak, prior to going through the car wash? Or do they have enough power to dissolve everything and then it just comes off in the car wash?
Car wash.

Four pages in and no one's made the "wax on, wax off" joke? I'm disappointed...

I drove it through the rain today.

In all seriousness though, I wash it in the driveway with a pressure washer and rain x. We make it a family event. Kids are great for scrubbing wheels! They also love to aim the pressure washer. I operate the trigger and stabilize the operation.

I use Rain-x Spot free Car wash with a Microsoft Car wash sponge. I don't even have to dry it. It drys outside with NO SPOTS!. I probably use a little more wash in the bucket than they call for but it works well. It' easy. I would never put my car into a car wash. There could be a off roading truck three cars ahead of you, you don't know. It is easy to get bugs off because it leaves a coating.

Traditional drive thru car wash (touchless = useless)
If I'm going to apply a Suma ceramic spray, I hand wash after drive thru because I will pick up some dirt and dust driving home from car wash.

*I have a lifetime free (not more than one time per day) at a car wash 3 miles down the street so during the winter I go thru almost every day.
