How do you use points for accessories?

I saw a few posts mentioning about using points for accessories many months ago. I don't see that is allowed when ordering online. It says to go to the dealer and that's not an option for me.

You can order from Chapman online and use points. I just received 5 oil filters and 2 air filters.

The whole process seems opaque. My sales guy said I needed to obtain my points from mav purchase within 48 hours or else my points convert to oil changes and tire rotations only. Which seemed off to me so I called another dealer and they looked up my account and gave me a price for a tonneau cover using my points and the rest with cash. Another question is can we use ford coupon codes and points to purchase Ford accessories? Ford accessory website always has coupon codes for 10 or 20% off which would make the points go farther.

Not sure if its changed since 2020 but I had to order the accessories on the phone at ford dealer I choose to use not the dealer i bought car from and told them I would be using points. They did order no credit card needed . Then when accessories came in went to dealer to SERVICE NOT Parts. and had them process the whole thing. I could not get it to work online with points. BUT this was in sept 2020 NO idea if its changed since then.

You can call them and they use ur points over the phone. You can’t order online and use the points.

That’s with a dealer not Ford.com. And my dealer or dealers in my area won’t do that. But they did help me over the phone so it’s basically like the same thing. Except you don’t have to pay for shipping and I am pretty sure it came quicker.

I did at my dealership, showed them the discounts offered through ford.com accessories and they gave me same price but I did pay sales taxes (don’t know if you do online or not)

You stated that parts can't be ordered online and purchased with Ford Points which is not true.

I never said it was with Ford directly, who cares? What difference does it make? It's an authorized Ford dealer and the same parts.

I ordered online at 11pm from the comfort of my home and had the parts in (2) days......
