In fact, I don't know if you've noticed @peepsnet but the Maverick doesn't have a discrete trim piece like the F150. The black textured part on the Maverick is just a vinyl wrap on the metal. So this is the part but you'd need to cut an opening in the door skin for it to snap into.

WELL it's dumb for Ford to call it "
B-Pillar Trim With Keypad - Black Platinum - Ford (VNZ6Z-9920554-C)
"

WITH KEYPAD

Also there appears to actually be a separate wiring harness for the XL config specifically without the keypad. Dual power mirror w/ BLIS, Less Door Entry Remote Control Unit.

So to install the keypad you would at least also need this harness which should be for the XLT. (ignore the fact that the part # is the same; Ford Parts is stupid in that it truncates the part number)

Because it's a metal dressup panel that has the cutout for trims with keypad

Actually both of you are incorrect.

The best kind of incorrect! When everyone is so sure they are correct, but everyone is wrong. Haha. o_O

Which ends up actually looking a bit cheap because the fitment results in a noticeable gap on the front side of the keypad. And at the top of the door.

@Darnon Thank you for actually answering the question!!!!

So there does not seem to be an empty connector hanging out in the door panel just waiting for the keypad!!

And I just tried the keycode retrieval technique using 2 keys and swapping them and I got nothing to show in the dash.

So at best it is not enabled in the module but at worst there are really 2 different BCMs.

Can anybody confirm a second BCM???

After consulting the factory service manual, the BCM is the unit with the codes. You will need not only the keyless entry keypad but also the antenna since the BCM checks for the keyfob. and not just for RKE. I am not sure but it appears that it may be that there is more than one BCM for the Maverick because there are a lot of tests for BCM without Keyless Entry Module and all seem to be different than with Keyless Entry.
If I take an XL vin and put it in the Key Code lookup it says I can get a pin sent to me.
If you visit:
https://www.motorcraftservice.com/keycode/keycodelookup
and enter
3FTTW8E98NRA87347 (not my vin)

It says I can get a code.

So I guess there is a code in the BCM
I am guessing that you will get the As-Built file and that won't do you much good as that window sticker doesn't have the option you are looking to install, and if that is not your VIN then I wouldn't install that As Built file or you could cripple your ride until you get the correct As Built. It is safer just to change the necessary code strings to enable it and if I am seeing this correctly, you need the antenna, the driver's side door handle, and the B-Pillar keypad. There appear to be a few interconnects that make them a set, though to be honest it has been more than a few years since I have used a Ford Service Manual so I could be reading the diagrams wrong.

That does look wrong. The plastic is wrong as well as the wrong color. It would be better to get one from a Bronco Sport or Escape at the salvage yard, but it would need to be a 2022 to make sure that it will be compatible.

Again, there is no 'plastic trim piece'. The black is just a vinyl applique and the keypad snaps into the door metal. That image is showing the black platinum metal overlay which can be purchased that the link in OP's post is (erroneously) purporting to also include a keypad addon for some reason.

Also there shouldn't be any need to replace the door handle nor is there an antenna. It doesn't query the key; the whole point is that it's KEYLESS entry.

SO then my guess is you would need:
1)The Keypad: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/actuator-14200199-1

2) Any different harnesses in the door

3) Forscan to make any changes to the Module's programming.

Okay have at it. I am just looking at the door blow up diagram and the keyless entry connects to the drivers side door handle and the antenna but go for it.

At the very least. It's entirely possible the dash/body harness is also missing the wiring from the door connector as well which then becomes a whole can of worms. And if the BCM has the functionality present to be enabled (remember stuff like the keypad code is burned into the BCM firmware; it may be null on non-equipped models)
