How did you first hear about the Ford Maverick?

On the internet of course! I still haven't seen one in person! With a July 10, 2021 order date (and no further contact from Ford) I have hopes that it will be in the next few months. I actually heard about the Santa Cruz first and was researching it since I wanted a truck that could do some basic hauling and towing and fit my family. The midsize ones were too small in the back seat and the full size were too expensive. Even the Santa Cruz for what I wanted was over budget and just happened across the Maverick while looking for something similar.

I went to my nearest dealer which had 1 Maverick that was already slated for a customer to take a look at it and test my car seats. When the customer canceled instead for a hybrid order I bought the one at the dealer within a few days.

I remember reading an article with spy photos that Ford would make a compact pickup. The original version was based on the transit van, fortunately they changed their mind on using that platform!

Remember reading some Motor1 or autoblog article about it a while ago, and remember immediately dismissing it because 1) the initial pictures of it didn't do it much justice and 2) I had low expectations given how outdated the Ranger is..

I recall this past fall when the press got their hands on it how quickly my impression changed, and now i'm sitting here waiting for mine to arrive..

ill go first i was on vacation and I was scrolling through tiktok and seen a add for it. I started doing my research and ordered the next day 20 mins before I got on my flight

I watched the new and concept truck web sites and in Jan. 2021 saw an article about the new Ford small truck, not named at the time. The artwork showed a Bronco Sport themed pickup which attracted me to it. Lots of different guesses about design when a tailgate shot showed the Maverick name. I watched Ford Authority until Ford announced the date the Maverick would be revealed. After June 6, 2021 I finally found Maverick Truck Club and another Maverick forum that I followed. The MTC grew so fast and had so much info, I don't visit the other site now. But using MTC, and the Ford build site, I finally ordered my VB 2.0 EB Xl on Oct. 6.

I was researching SUV's and trucks about a year ago. I was unhappy with current offerings. None of the SUV's I found checked all my boxes. Trucks that fit my family needs were too damned big and expensive.

So, in Feb or Mar 2021, I entered "upcoming small trucks" into Google and came across a story about the (then) rumored Maverick on "fordauthority.com." The article included the widely circulated picture of a silver Maverick tailgate.

Would have been some time around July of last year, though can't recall how I first read about it. I immediately found this forum, lurked around for about 2 weeks. Then I said to myself, "yes, I want this!". Put in my order and set up an account on here a day or two later.
I've spent so much time on here and read just about every story that has come out about the Maverick that I honestly have no idea anymore where I FIRST found out about it. Since still waiting on mine to come in, it's been a blessing and a curse!

I was pricing Ranger builds on FORD’s website and first noticed the MAVERICK. Watched a few YouTube videos. Decided to see if there was a Maverick Forum. This place is a gold mine and I spent most of the evening reading. Emailed Chapman auto to confirm if they where legit, and the rest is history.

I saw a Hyundai Santa Cruz on I-85, Greenville SC. Did research and watched Youtube reviews and the Hyundai reviews all mentioned the Maverick. The hybrid and MPG won me over.

When I first heard about it i heard 30K for it plus nothing about base model being hybrid so I ignored it. Wish i didn't. Now I will try an order come August.

It was officially released to the masses on June 8th of last year. I follow a lot of car things on different forms on social media and the internet, and the Maverick was everywhere. I was super impressed and knew I needed one right away. I was super busy at work June 9th, but on my lunch break on June 10th, I went to my local dealership and ordered one.

13 months later, I'm expected to finally have it arrive at my dealership in 3 weeks.

Think I (not a car guy) saw it on Reddit about the same time my son (a car guy) saw it last July. We chatted, I followed it on Reddit and then someone mentioned MTC. I joined here, learned a LOT, asked a LOT of questions and ordered in August.

Been driving since May and LOVE IT!!!
