Be patient. It’s gonna be awhile, unless something changes. I waited 18 months but I think things have really improved since then. Good luck.Hi all I ordered my Maverick on 10/11 was expecting some news by now
how long did it take you to receive any news ?
What’s Next?
You will receive an update on your order within 45 days. We’ll let you know once we have the necessary parts and your vehicle has been placed on the production schedule.
You may need to lower your expectations.
Thanks great information my dealer stated the 2024 production is doing extremely well and said we should be in good shape....@STIGZZZ Several factors determine how long you will wait until you get your Maverick Lariat Tremor. Now that you have had a chance to come up to speed on the MTC forums, I hope you realize that the key factors start with the dealer you selected. They will have an idea of how many allocations they will receive. Thus, the slot for producing your Maverick will depend upon how many orders they have, the priority of your order against the dealership's other orders, and the likelihood that Ford has the capacity for your configuration.
If the Canadian market trends are similar to the US Order Bank, the good news is Ford has plenty of Lariat Tremor capacity. Here is a rough sketch of how I got there based on the latest USOB numbers.
Thus, as long as the dealership has the allocations and your Maverick's priority makes it highly visible to Ford during their scheduling process, it has a good chance of getting picked up for production.
- Estimated MY24 Production is 110-120K units.
- Ford indicated the capacity for Ecoboost is 45% & 10% Tremor. Suppose Ford can build 5K Tremors during the 2024 Model Year.
- Only 1% of the 24% Ecoboost orders (USOB Retail Orders) are for Tremors. That means they only have orders for around 100 Tremors.
Scheduling is postponed this week due to Thanksgiving. Check at Tim at Long McArthur's (@fordvideoguy) Live Feed next Tuesday to hear about scheduling resuming next week. You should also listen to Johnny's Car Care YouTube live for Canadian-specific information.
In conclusion, the dealer is making an educated best guess on when your Maverick will get built. They might have made a good guess since they have more insight into their allocations and order priorities. We can only guess.
You are seeing people respond with experience. I have been through this process four times since 2022: 1) 2022 PHEV Escape (for my wife), 2) 2022 Maverick XL Hybrid (for me; sold it when I ordered 2023 -- didn't like the Hybrid's CVT and rear suspension), 3) 2023 Maverick XLT EB AWD (current vehicle; like it better than the Hybrid), and 4) 2024 Maverick XL Hybrid (for my son). Vehicles 1 through 3 were through one dealer, and number 4 was from a different dealer.Maybe that should be the new motto “lower your expectations”.
But seriously. STIGZZZs communication from Ford was “You will receive an update on your order within 45 days”
It said he “will” receive it not “may”.
It said “within 45 days not “about 45 days”
The 45 days has passed so he’s just following up like any rational person would. But the response from the club, as is too often with any complaints/concerns here, is “lower your expectations”.
I don’t understand this mentality. So many folks on this forum are so loyal and complacent to Ford that they consider it the customer’s fault for merely expecting Ford to do what they said they would do.
No, some people know what to expect and are letting others know.loyal and complacent to Ford
Thanks!Congrats. It looks great! Mine isn’t a hybrid. Lariat Tremor. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing for the timeline.
I assume your dealer didn't imply that you’d have it in about 3 months when they sold it to you?
This is my point, it’s sporadic at best. Has been for years and they keep telling customers the same thing. The problem IS Ford, not the customer’s expectations. You’ve been through the nonsense four times so now you know what to expect. Most people are new to all of this and are learning not to rely on what they say until after the fact. Ford should stop setting the expectation if it has been unreliable for years. You are seeing people respond with experience. We received the order confirmation emails.
The email 45 days after the order confirmation was sporadic at best.
The 2022 Maverick resulted in several update emails, including an offer that we would receive several FITS options for free due to the wait, which never materialized.
The emails started in earnest when each vehicle was scheduled.
1) The Escape was rescheduled once -- the production date was pulled in 1 week.
2) The 2022 Maverick was rescheduled five times. It was finally produced eight weeks after it was originally scheduled.
3) The 2023 Maverick was rescheduled twice. One time, it was pushed out. The next time, it was pulled in. Ultimately, it was produced one week later than originally scheduled.
4) The 2024 Maverick has not been scheduled. We just canceled this order since we found a better deal on a new 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid and took delivery last Saturday.
The key to these changes is that the email notifying me seemed to be about one week behind the change. Yet, I received all of these emails. I also received the "it's been built" and the "it's been shipped" emails. Again, these emails tend to lag when the event happens.
People also like to blame Ford for shipping "misinformation" and delays. They don't realize that all of the transportation logistics are paid for by Ford and not controlled or owned by Ford.
The Escape made it onto a rail car and dropped into the depot, waiting to be transported to the dealer as predicted. Unfortunately, a law change in California regarding independent truck owners meant that it sat in the depot waiting for the last mile to the dealer for over five weeks. Neither Ford nor the dealer controlled this; we just had to wait.
The 2022 Maverick sat in the same depot as the Escape for three weeks before arriving at the dealer.
The 2023 Maverick barely spent three days in the same depot. It went from Hermosillo to my Orange County, CA, dealer in less than two weeks.
My point in going through this is to explain to the new folks what to expect since we have been through the process. We are not defending Ford. We are setting reasonable expectations and pointing out that nothing in this process is as precise as we would like.
Cheers... I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving.
No, some people know what to expect and are letting others know.
I had to double check where you were located because if you were in Canada you get 0 (zero, nada, zilch) communication from Ford!
Then at least Ford didn't lie to you Canadians!I had to double check where you were located because if you were in Canada you get 0 (zero, nada, zilch) communication from Ford!
