Anybody else...besides me... think that the hood prop is too short? Feels to me like it should be 4-6 inches longer/taller....

Those look great! Thanks for the suggestion...Totally agree that’s why I installed the Redline Tuning Gas Hood Shocks - the hood opens a few more inches and eliminates the need for the prop rod. Very good quality and a smooth hood lift assist.

If the prop rod works for you maybe have the OEM rod cut and an extension rod be added to increase the length just make sure the storage position length doesn’t exceed the room available when the hood is closedI use a heavy duty cardboard tube to prop my hood open a good 10 inches above the OEM prop rod….![]()
Oh - so much better than my stack of toilet paper rolls!I use a heavy duty cardboard tube to prop my hood open a good 10 inches above the OEM prop rod….![]()
Yep....been on this planet for 60 years now...and have NEVER seen, heard, witnessed, or even thought that my hood didn't open "enough". In the immortal words of Chevy Chase from Vacation..."You all are fucked in the head !!!"What In The World ?
You guy's are joking right ?
I'm 5'11" and the stock rod easily holds the super light hood out of my way just fine.

I had to use a taller prop rod to gain easier access to the cowl area. The OEM rod, which is limited by the length of the radiator on which it clips - did not raise the hood high enough.Companies create solutions to problems that are not actually a problem because people waste money on dumb sh*t everyday.
I just hope they never stop making stupid stuff because every once in a while someone comes up with some good sh!tI had to use a taller prop rod to gain easier access to the cowl area. The OEM rod, which is limited by the length of the radiator on which it clips - did not raise the hood high enough.
I repurposed a long cardboard tube to fix (for free) the design limitation of the OEM prop rod.
Therefore, I did NOT waste money on an unnecessary “dumb shit” prop rod!!
Although I did waste money ($150) on the unnecessary strut brace that I needed the longer prop rod for - so I guess your point is still valid.
Never mind.
