I've had heated seats since our our '09 Fusion SEL (which I still drive daily). For our son's '16 Focus and wife's '17 focus, they both had heated seats and steering wheels. As I stated back then, I wasn't sure if it was my continued "wussification" but a heated steering wheel was something really nice. You can be darn certain that the Maverick I've ordered had that option checked.

We got our first heated steering wheel in my wife's Jeep. We love it. We program it to come in in the winter automatically when the vehicle remote starts. Oh, yeah, love it.

I installed heat tape on my Ranger's steering wheel but it did not work out so good. /joke/

Until I had a vehicle with a heated steering wheel (2015 BMW X1) I thought it was a frivolous option.
Now, I wouldn't want to buy a new vehicle without it. Same for auto climate control.

I'm amazed at how quickly the steering wheel heats up in my Maverick.

Yeah fist time I encountered a heated wheel was in a rental Escape.
I was like what’s this wussy heated wheel button for who needs that?
Man it was like heaven driving to work for that first 20 mins not having to two finger that wheel lol.
I’m currently trying to mod my Mav for it now.

Reason # 10 we decided to get a Maverick over another Subaru. They don't even have it available! I can't wait! Too bad it will be warm by the time it arrives so I will have to wait for next winter to enjoy it!

Didn't think I ever wanted, let alone needed, heated wheel and seats. Had to take them as part of a package that had things I DID want. My hands and butt are forever grateful!!

Funny how an option like heated seats, mirrors, steering wheel and wipers can spoil you for other vehicles.

With heated seat and steering wheel, I don't have to turn on the heat until it is below 30 degree Fahrenheit.
