Steering wheel lock

I installed a base plate today for use behind my motorhome. I went through the menu to put it into neutral tow mode. In this mode you turn the key off which I thought would lock the steering wheel but it doesn’t. I put it back in regular mode and it appears the steering wheel doesn’t lock at all. Can someone verify the hybrid steering wheel doesn’t lock?

Isn’t it electric steering? No power, no steering.

Power steering doesn't work like that, exactly, at least by my understanding. Power steering is an assist giving you mechanical advantage. If you manually turn the wheel enough, it will still move, but it would be a lot of work.

Still learning this truck. I guess you are right. When turning the key to ready the wheel turns easily, so it must be electric steering. Good to know it doesn’t lock especially for towing.
