Last week I bought 3 sheet of plywood from Home Depot and brought them home in my Maverick.
I put the tailgate in its 'higher' position, which lines itself up with the same height as the fender wheel well arches and loaded in the plywood.
Using the tabs on the tailgate I strapped down the plywood and off I went.

Overall impression: loading and carrying 4x8 sheets of plywood is easy. I did add a red, plastic flag, as the plywood does extend past the tailgate.
If you have any concerns about transporting 4x8 sheets of anything in the bed of your Maverick.....don't.

Unfortunately, I didn't think about snapping a photo of the loaded plywood until I'd unloaded it. :cautious:

This was a selling point for me. I have projects that do come up and knowing I can haul that standard size easily makes it all worth while.
I know, I know, but an F-350 has MOAR POWAH!!! Yea, well, when my Maverick comes in I will be hauling just as much air as that F-350 for pennie’s in gas that the $$ in gas the F-350 will run just like my Jeep Renegade currently gets.

Hauling plywood in the Maverick convinced me to seriously look at purchasing this pickup. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Either a lot more people purchase plywood on a regular basis than I ever imagined or a lot of people have lofty ideas of projects they will never complete lol
I do woodworking, so hauling plywood was one of the big selling points for me.

Doesnt Louisiana have a history of hurricanes? With a Maverick you will be prepared.

We live off grid in a cabin and are always building stuff.

Easy Peasey. I’ve hauled 10’ lumber as well as 4x8 sheet goods. That tailgate up position with tie down on the sides makes all the difference.

I got really chapped when I discovered that a standard piece of 49"x97" MDF would not fit in the 48 3/4" opening of the tailgate!!!!!😱

Yep, though it makes it harder to load, unload, and trim it either flat on top of bed rails (too high) or wedged at an angle between the sides of tailgate opening. I am getting to weak to handle them anyway so ...

Drywall was the same deal. No problems. Though I imagine it would be a lot harder to haul things with less tie down points. I already regret not getting the extra points and rail with the lux package.

Thought for those who use MDF.
MDF normally off gasses quite a bit of formaldehyde but NAF (No Added Formaldehyde) can usually be found most easily at Lowes but still verify it is NAF TYPE wherever you buy it if formaldehyde sensitivity is a concern....
