Looks good. Some people seem to have issues with size though. (must be compensating LOL) I have a ten foot SOT for my truck and an inflatable SUP for my motorcycle. I ordered a hitch that I will mount and use the Harbor Freight bed extender like the OP

Completed my DIY temporary kayak rack until I get the Yakima roof rack. Used 2x2's and harbor freight hitch extender vertical.

For those that have asked about carrying a kayak. I took mine out yesterday. The kayak is a little over 12 feet long. I used the harbor freight hitch extender. On the lowest height it matches up with the tailgate pretty good. Overall it fit nicely. I could still fit some heat back there, but would have to load differently if I brought two large kayaks.

Consider keeping a piece of that red flag material they give away at Home Depot's loading area in your truckbox for all of these occasions.

At that length does it swing out into other lanes when you turn? I am considering getting kayaks after I get the truck

At first glance I thought you had a wheelie bar (the wheels under the kayak). 😅

Q: Which are the most dangerous canoes?

A: Volcanoes.

(Ba dum dum...)

No, I haven't had an issue. I'm more on smaller roads with little traffic when I have this setup but I do make sure my side is clear before making any turns!
