Has anyone ordered FX4 without 4K Towing

I did, but it looks like everyone who has FX4 also grabbed 4ktowing. I am wondering if anyone ordered only FX4 and after owning it regret not adding 4k? I don't know if the order banks are still open and I don't really want to lose my place but will take the risk if having only FX4 seems lacking. This is my first truck and my first build and don't want to regret it!

About my needs: I don't really tow right now but hope for a small camper someday. 5 years away maybe. I'm more concerned about the ratio difference and transmission cooler. Of course I guess it would've been good to also have it for any "what if" scenarios, but I'm probably just overthinking like usual.

Any thoughts appreciated!

I asked myself the same question last year. I wanted an FX4 because I drive on a rough 3 mile unimproved dirt road to my family's ranch property.

I decided that the extra $745 for 4k was a bargain. I may tow a small camper in the future and it would impractical and expensive to try and upgrade after the truck is built.

I regret not getting the FX4 package on my XLT. I have everything else. The instrument cluster upgrade is a nice feature by itself, but I was getting too hung up over losing the sport & Eco mode at the time I didn’t know anything about forscan. Plus having that FX4 decal I think has other truck owners do a double take lol.

I was thinking exactly like you. I've never been big into towing, but the thought of a lightweight camper is intriguing. Plus if we decide to move to the southwest someday, a trailer will sure come in handy. Since the Maverick is being purchased as my "semi forever" truck, I like having the 4k option just in case.

If you're thinking of towing any trailer with electric brakes ( most campers )order 4k tow package . it would be cost effective . those extras can be added to fx4 after the fact but will cost more . My fx4 doesn't have it but don't plan on towing any trailer that needs 4k tow package . Bought my maverick off dealer extra allotment . If I ordered one fx4 + 4k towing package would be added just in case .

They took it off the 2024 about a couple weeks before I ordered it. So when I put in my order for FX4 it was only for FX4. I had to say I wanted 4k separate. Which I didn't.

I do not plan to tow with it but I did get the 4K tow package for the upgraded trans and engine cooling. I live in the south were the temps are over 95F for half the year. The extra cooling will certainly help with engine and transmission longevity.

AWD+4K Tow would have been "mandatory" for me ... never had AWD and only towed once with each of my previous trucks. Just options i would rather have than not.

I just tried the 24 build and price ... 4K and Fx4 are separate options, so can order one or both.

Yeah they did if you try to build one on Ford now you can add them separately and right after I ordered mine in September (which doesn't include 4k but has fx4) I went online to see if they were still linked and they weren't. Pretty sure there is a post on here showing that update which I'm looking for but I'm not good searching the site.
