In a similar position. My RWD is not suitable for my new and very steep driveway at our build site. Clock is ticking on the day when I have to buy something else.

I'll definitely take delivery of the Maverick even if I buy something else sooner. My salesman (upright guy) told me very clearly that they'll buy the Maverick back at a good profit to me (after taxes, etc) 5 minutes after I take delivery. He was adamant that only an idiot would walk away from a Maverick order right now. Sign the papers. Take the keys. Then ask "wanna buy it back?".

Id wait it out Thats what I'm gonna do but Im fortunate to not be in the position of needing it anytime soon. I know people are and that sucks. But if you do bail I'll buy your dee zee tailgate assist off your hands! I have several boxes of parts as well waiting in the garage for when mine eventually arrives.

That’s not really a lot of money… but that should not be the determining factor. How are you going to like taking the bus, now that is the question. I ordered September 18 AWD Lux and co pilot and I’m hoping for a late July build. FordVideoGuy says 10,000 builds for June and less than 2,000 for July. Clearly unless you have your build date already the very earliest you will get your Truck will be late July or August. I’m thinking of a Ridgeline if I’m not at least given a future build date by June. Good luck.
It’s about $800 in accessories already. That was my thinking if I don’t have a build date by June. Or get the dealership to put me in a temporary vehicle. I get the delays but this has already been a financial burden with one car in household. Thank you Cap, Good luck as well…

Depends how bad you want a Maverick. Some guys are willing to pay $10-15K above MSRP. Some are willing to give up pkgs. and add on features to get one. Some will wait 1-2 years to get their order. Some decided they are tired of Ford fuc&@:; them around and go for other options out there. Ultimately it is your decision. You can always get something else and in a couple years get a Maverick. Hopefully by then without any issues.
Great point Jerry, think without all the parts investment it would have been a quicker decision jumping ship. But agreed with all you said.
Thanks

I'm thinking of jumping too--several reasons. I'd go to a Ridgeline, but the gas mileage would hurt worse than what I have with the distance I have to drive for work. Right now, I'm looking at a Rav4 hybrid and a Forester or Outback. NOT what I was wanting, but beginning to think this vehicle just isn't the right timing for me.
RAV4 hybrid was one of the ones I was looking at, for gas mileage purposes. 🤔

Here's a question no one has asked, have you reached out to the Ford hotline or chat to ask what the current status of your order is? It could getting ready to be built and a short time lease is the smart play, it could also for some reason rollover to the next model year and you should jump ship.
I‘ve been contacting every other week. Now it’s in priority code 2, but that’s been for at least 5-6 weeks now with no build yet everyone keeps saying it’s almost there but then hotline says once you get build date expect 8 more weeks to receive. 🤦🏾

Mine arrived about two weeks after build date.

Why not proceed with your plan B (RAV4 or whatever), and keep your Mav order active. When it finally gets built, decide which vehicle to keep. With used car demand/prices remaining high, you really can't go wrong buying anything new as long as you can avoid ADM.

If you absolutely need a vehicle by June, start looking now, you very likely won't have it by then. Depending on what you buy and how it fits your need should determine what you do next...

I'm fortunate to finally have a build date on my June order, but am doubting if I'll have within a year of ordering. Hoping my current vehicle holds out myself...

Good luck!

The wait absolutely sucks. I lucked out in that I sold my primary vehicle less than a month before the Maverick arrived. But the market is absolutely crazy. There is nothing comparable to the Maverick at its MSRP right now. Find a ’short’ term solution to bridge the gap until it finally gets built and delivered to you.

Looking at my options. Committed to the Ford Maverick Lariat on 9/4. A 3-4 month promise has become a long road, 8 months and counting. Now I need to check my options. I have to have a vehicle by June when my kids are out of school. Been discussing a short term lease if things are still in limbo, with dealership. Now wondering if I hang in there or jump ship?. My other vehicle has been gone since Jan. and relying on one vehicle in the family is not fun. I have a ton of accessories already, and was wondering if I sell them or hold tight?
Maverick owners what’s the verdict…

Purchased already:

Dezee tailgate assist

Lund Aeroskin smoke wind deflector

Rocker Panel Doors

Putco stainless steel Door Sill Plate Kit

FITS kit

I received a text yesterday from my salesman at Maplecrest in Union…. He has a beautiful XLT eco boost nicely equipped MSRP about $32,245. dealer wanted between 8 and 10,000 over. I had to pass.

I’ll be honest. If I Han’t put a deposit down on one I would have bought a Colorado. It’s close enough to what I needed. Gas is better with the Mav obviously. If you don’t need/want a hybrid and have no deposit riding on this, I’d jump.
I’m sure you could sell the parts on the forum no problem.
The question is, is there anything around ti buy at a reasonable price?

If it’s any help. I ordered 9/11 got a build date of 4/22 and a delivery date of 5/28. so you MAY be close.

XLT AWD Carb Gray w/360 and 4K

good luck

Hold on, you'll be happy. Try to find a good used interim ride you can sell when you get the Mav.
