I've got the Gooloo GT4000S jump starter couple of weeks ego:

https://www.amazon.com/GOOLOO-GT4000S-Starter-Engines-Portable/dp/B0CCJCP9ZK

It's for backup purposes, in case my EB 2.0 decides not to start one day. While it had not done that yet, it's a cheap insurance against when it may do that in the winter. My Toyota Avalon, that never let me down despite driving it even less than the Maverick, will be jump started as well if necessary.

I seem to recall a discussion about the jump starters, where most people advised not to help others to start their engines, unless it is absolutely necessary. Since I'll have no issues with starting mine, if it comes to it, why would jump starting other vehicles be an issue? Can "things" go that wrong with the jump starter even if one is careful?

Thx...

Looks like a good one Skyline. I figured that if I need to keep one in a vehicle, it should be able to do double duty or even triple duty. I haven't bought it yet, but it's on my wish list. Jump starter, air compressor, and charging station.

Update: 12/30/23 .... I just made an offer (less than asking price) I will report back upon successful purchase.

If I didn't have a nice compressor, dual cylinder, I'd probably go for the combo too like you did JP4AZ. The Gooloo has an adapter from the jump starter to my compressor. At least don't need to run the engine, when putting air in the tires....

It's not an issue helping others start their vehicle with your jump box. As long as the vehicle being jumped doesn't require a higher amperage jump than your jump box is capable of providing.

What might possibly be an issue is using your vehicle to jump start someone else's vehicle. A few years ago, I jumped a stranded person's car with my F-150. When I stored the cables and drove away, I noticed the alternator light was on, on my truck and I had to get a new one. Since then, I have never jumped another vehicle with mine. Fluke, maybe? I don't know, but I'm not gonna risk damaging my Maverick by jumping someone. I'll use the jump box instead.

I've had a NOCO jump box since before I bought my Maverick and it works great. I put a calendar reminder on my phone to charge it once every 6 months, but could probably be stored longer than that w/o issue.

Thx @Ozarkbeard ... Thee 4000S provide 800A CCA for 3 seconds, upto 10L diesel and 12L gas engines. Even my Avalon is just 3.0L, it's oversized jump starter for sure.

Occasionally, I used to jump start other vehicles with my F150 without any issue. Then again, that was 25 years old F150 without any gadgets, just some basics as fuel injection and Antilock brake for the real wheels only.

That's what I forgot, schedule recharging the GOOLOO, opening my Outlook calendar....

Mine was a 97 F-150.
