This is the way. If the dealer brings up an extended warranty say no unless they will match the Granger price.

Get a granger price, take $100 off, and give dealer that number. Just remember, if you get the granger warranty it won't get added to your loan. You would pay out of pocket unless u got the dealers.

The Granger warranty quotes don’t include extra add-ons, such as the light coverage and the key coverage. Dealer warranty markups also include these services.

This is the Granger quote I got for a 2026 Maverick Hybrid AWD living in Georgia. The light coverage (that’s what I’m calling it, but I can see if it’s on my paperwork) is a dealer cost of $100. My $100 deductible 5 Year/125,000 warranty was $1,970, and I paid it up front at the dealership. So, I technically saved on Granger’s cost by $25.

Come prepared with the Granger table for the spec and state you’re ordering in. That really helped me.

You have the key and light option for a few extra bucks after you choose your main plan via Granger.

The warranty offered from Granger is an official Ford warranty a lot of dealers sell some offbrand that I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole. I recommend the lighting rider on the Granger/Ford warranty and if you have Ford point you can use those to offset some of the cost from Granger
We went with the 10 year hundred thousand mile zero deduct with the lighting rider for a 25 lariat the cost is the same regardless of trim so the more options you have the better the bargain on the Ford warranty

the dude also says don’t buy a car. he hasn’t explained how i’m getting 20 miles to and from work when it is -5f. or any other time.

if you want an extended warranty, buy one. if you don’t, don’t.

I purchased one from Granger for my Maverick. I have not used it yet at 2.75 years and 58K miles later. I have a 6 year 125K mile one.

I have purchased extended warranties over the years and I would have been fine without them. A couple of cases I didn't really use them, and in a couple of other cases I 'broke even'. I like the peace of mind but in my experience it hasn't made financial sense so far.

I too purchased the 10 year 100k miles, ZERO deductible extended warranty from Granger. This is my first ever extended warranty purchase in over 50 years of driving. Two key factors why I pulled the plug and made the purchase: My age and limited experience working with newer vehicles (very unfamiliar and could do more harm than good if I break something in the process), AND I now have the extra $$$ which I never had in my younger years. I'll report back in TEN years to see how I fared with the purchase!

Keep in mind the Ford Protect “starts“ at day your new truck rolls off dealer’s lot. Your new truck already has 3 yrs factory warranty. So if you got a 5 yr plan, prob get 2 more years.

Anybody read the terms, see that too?
