What's not entirely clear in this recall is whether it's just for 4k tow units with brake controllers or all Mavericks equipped with 4 pin 2k or 4+7 pin systems.

OP the info in your signature indicates you have a FWD EB with the 2k 4 pin base system is that the case? I'm not seeing this with my VIN yet at this point.

Remedy SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS RELEASED SOFTWARE FOR 26C10.

This info contradicts the OP's initial post.. My Ford app also shows the 26C10 recall now.

Based on post #6 it appears to be for both 2K & 4K trucks with a 4 or 7 pin trailer connector
I have a MY22 EB AWD 4K tow, logged into ford and it shows the recall for my vehicle but states a fix is not available until Q2/2026. Guess we'll see if they meet that date or not.

Description

On your vehicle it is possible that the trailer module trm may lose communication at vehicle start-up. If a trm loss of communication occurs and a trailer is connected to the vehicle, trailer stop lamps and turn signal indicators will not function. Additionally, for trailers equipped with electronic trailer brakes, the trailer brakes will not function. This loss of communication can occur with-or-without a trailer connected to the vehicle and can only initiate at vehicle start-up. If this occurs, a trailer brake module fault notification will pop-up on the vehicles instrument panel cluster. The vehicle brake and turn signal lamps will continue to operate normally and are not affected by this trm fault. If you do not tow with your vehicle, you may wait for ota deployment for your vehicle remedy.

Safety Risk

This may result in inoperable trailer brake lights, trailer turn signals and trailer braking functions that can reduce a drivers ability to control an attached trailer and make the trailer less visible to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Software is not available. Ford Motor Company is working to provide software for this repair. When the remedy becomes available, Ford Motor Company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer for repairs to be completed free of charge. The remedy is anticipated to be available in Q2 2026.

It appears if you get OTA updates, then it is available and will download on its own. If you have an older Maverick, then you will have to wait until Ford rolls it out to dealerships.

Ford dealer just called me and set a mobile appointment for a 30 minute software update at my home tomorrow. I guess the recall fix is now available for my 2023 FWD EB with 2K tow.

Have a 25 AWD hybrid with 4 pin connector. Had a local dealer that has mobile service complete the trailer wiring and parking module recalls this morning. Took about 20 minutes and the process went well

Both. The abvance notice I read mentions vehicles with Brake Controller, it will affects Braking function as well as brake lights.

Yes, this became clear later, since I got the notice yesterday.

The software fix is available right now for the 25 and 26 models. However, the fix is not available for the 22-24 models yet.
