I have read several places that the $15 dampeners sold on Amazon for the Toyota will work on the Maverick . So I purchased one. I have a 2025 XLT Hybrid FWD and attempted to install it. Has anyone done this? I easily dropped the glovebox and saw the connect point on the glove box but could not locate the connect point on the frame portion. I must be looking right at it and not seeing it.....where is it located? Hopefully Ford did not eliminate it to save a cent.

They didn't, it was a few "cents" buying in bulk

Al,
Here you go.
I dropped my glove compartment to show you the connections.
The first picture is the lug at the end of the PISTON and the nipple that it's attached to on the drawer.

The second picture, is of the End Lug on the cylinder attached to the nipple inside the compartment.

The other lug is for a different vehicle. You can't use both of the lugs because the cylinder has to rotate somewhat.

Had to add this part also, kind of annoying that Ford deleted mid 2024.

Thanks. I just went out and rechecked and it turns out I have that prong tip where you are pointing. I just could not see it from where I was sitting and was expecting to see something on the outside.

Thanks. Great pic and thanks for your effort! From where I was sitting I could not see it and expected the prong to be on the outside of the frame. I confirmed it is definitely there and will try again tomorrow. The hole on the dampener on that side actually seems a bit smaller in diameter than the one on the extension arm side. The one on the extension arm side slips on the glove box prong quite easily. A little too cold and dark out now to mess with it any further....... afraid I may snap it off if I push to hard.

Yeah, I paid $30 dollars for the Ford damper. Then I paid $32 for a glove box light and harness from a 2025 Lincoln Navigator, plus 14.99 for a KIA glove box switch, plus a couple of dollars for the matching connectors from Mouser , plus wire, wire loom, tesa tape etc. to add a glove box light. There are good DIY write-ups on this site. Only thing I did different was completely hide the switch at the bottom right of the frame, just below the damper. Currently working on a center console lid light using the same switch and Lincoln light. I always buy two of everything. At this point who is counting? Not me!

No problem Al,
Like the tailgate damper the glove box damper isn't necessary, but they sure are a nice convenience to have. The other day I had my drone, spare battery in one hand and in the other hand had a container of coffee. Didn't have to worry about putting down anything. Used one finger to pull the handle on the rear tailgate, it came down soft and gentle. It's all about convenience.
I'm in a spot where $30 isn't going to break me, but will make my life easier.

@GlenBakerLLC is actually an expert juggler. But I would argue that using a drone as part of the act is cheating.
